Crosman HP pellets

Recently bought a tin of these pellets. Had heard reports that they shot well. I used them in my RWS34, Daisy Powerline pistol and the Ruger Mk1. They worked very well in the RWS at 25 yrs with about a 3/4 inch group. That would probably tighten up more with a better scope. My Powerline has always been a tack driver and it loves these pellets. 1/2 inch groups or smaller at 10 meters and one ragged hole at 5m. The big surprise was with the Ruger Mk1. I have shot about 8 different types and weights of pellets through it with poor to terrible results. I did a trigger job to improve the pull and with the Crosman hp's I started getting 1/2 in groups at 5m and 1-1/4 inch groups at 10m! This was with a 2 handled hold and no rest. These pellets saved it from an early death. The pellets work well on starlings as well out to about 30 yds. Good stuff!

Crosman HP - bang for the buck

When factoring in cost, these are probably the best .177 pellets I've found to date . They're accurate, fast and deform well when hitting dense material. In other words, they're humane when hunting small game, as one-shot take downs are the norm. The finish is very good with extremely few uneven skirts, something many other brands costing 20-40% more don't do as well. As a previous reviewer noted about 1:10 to 1:20 go outside the target, but this is more than acceptable given the performance of other brands in this price range. The only drawback, and it's a very minor one, is that if you live in an urban setting these are a little louder than subsonic pellets, but otherwise I'm very impressed and highly recommend them.

Target Practice

Great target practice at 30, 40, 50ft with 1/4in group. 1in at 90+ft. 3-4in. at 190ft. Using a crosman quest 1000x. Crosman Pointed pellet gives a small advantage less drop. Best for hunting at 140-150 ft. small game. Tested all Gamo, crossman and these are much better killing the target. Not great at puncturing tin cans both sides. The only one tested and gone thru Tin cans is the Gamo Raptor at about 50 ft. But there is no better to hit any target beyond 90ft with less than 2in. Local walmart sell them for less than $6. Pointed sell for $2 as well as Destroyer.

My RWS 34 really likes these

The Crosman Premier HP pellets are top performers in my RWS34; actually my rifle like these slightly better than the RWS Superdomes which really really surprised me. My scoped 34 is sighted in at 25 yrd. targets and shoots the CPHP's in stacked and joined ragged holes consistently with max flyer spreads of .625". The Superdomes are also dead on with max flyer spreads of .750". Experimenting with different pellets will bring about surprises and bring out the best capabilities and accuracy of your rifle. I have also tried other top drawer brands that cost twice as much but they did not group any better at same yardage and same artillery hold; go figure. Anyway the CPHP's and RWS Superdomes are my go to target pellets; noting the splatter remains of 2 horseflies that landed on a couple of targets this past weekend. The Crosman pointed really disappointed me so I will end up plinking cans or such with them. *Ignore all the above and don't buy them, get the pointed ones that will leave more of these for me. PS: I seldom give 5 stars even if a product rates it--the price would probably go up.

Don't bother paying more money for Beeman or RWS pellets...These Crosman Premiers are the best value for your money. Accurate, uniform, and cheap. These words don't usually go together, but in this case, they do. Get the domed or hollow point for long distance shooting and for hunting. Pointed pellets are a waist of money.

  • A. Absolutely not! If you have an intruder you don't want to just hurt them and make them mad; you want them gone or down. This pellet can take down small varmits but nothing larger.
