This is not a defect. My cooker has some shifting in the lid which is normal.

Sounds like a defect. The lid should fit.

I was a little concerned about the lid too, but I didn't find it was a problem. One recipe I used from their cookbook seemed to cook too fast and I think a lot of moisture escaped from the lid, but it was cooked in under the time recommended. But another recipe worked fine. I think the high setting is not the best to use.

Cheap product, you get what you pay for... but heat losses are small.

yes the lid does not lock on and it doesn't lose heat or moisture during cooking. Your dish will be just fine.

Lid does fit the inside pot correctly. That pot is even sishwasher safe.

The lid fits correctly. During cooking the lid will 'jostle' - (there's stuff brewing inside!) it's normal, just let it be.

My lid fits loose to so it must be the normal way to make them.

My lid jiggles around and I do experience evaporation; however, I just put in extra liquid that makes meat tender. I do agree that the lids need improvement. Solid glass or I prefer plastic like they used to have. I love to have my home filled with the aroma of tasty meals while I am doing something else. I use mine everyday. Different sizes for different things. I believe it is the best way to cook.

I just opened mine and the lid definitely does not fit. It sounds like it&#39;s a common problem but not with all, so that confirms it is a defect. Rats. Guess I&#39;ll take it back.

Because the crock-pot was fired off-kilter and is defective. Not only that but they also have other defective issues. I purchased three of these and they&#39;re all differently defective. Crock-pot must know it because when I called their CS I was told to begin store hopping to hope that I could find a unit that isn&#39;t defective. I tried on online chat with them and all three times (different times, different sessions, different reps) they simply disconnected in the middle of acting like they&#39;re were going to resolve the issue. So they basically pretend they have a connection issue and close the chat. Crock-pot CS is terribly horrid!

Mine is exact same way. Warped lid that allows heat to escape. And the low setting is WAY WAY too hot. I had chili in crocpot all day and had to keep constantly stirring and turning it off, it because it was boiling on outer edges. This is a classic case of getting what you pay for. Paid for cheap, got cheap.

Yes it can. It removes easily and washes up nicely.

The container is removable, can be placed in the dishwasher and it washes up very easily; however, I do not like the lids that they put on most slow cookers now because they are difficult to clean. In order to completely clean the lid the screw must be removed for it to dry. It appears to me a place for bacteria to form. Then, one might wonder if the heat kills the bacteria, maybe. I just liked the solid lids, Glass or plastic lids that are solid are very easy to clean without all that wondering if it is really clean, I prefer the plastic lids. I believe there is no better way to cook than with a slow cooker!

This crock pot is round and will hold a four pound roast to serve four people. It comes with two small cookbooks SCR400-B and uses less energy than a conventional oven. The stoneware is removable and can be put in the dishwasher. Also, this crock pot has two heat settings of high and low.

No, it does NOT have a warm setting and somebody needs to fix that description. I saw that, too, that it had a warm setting. That is the one flaw in that cooker. It seems to me that companies don't want to put that feature on a smaller slow cooker for some dopey reason. I'd pay a little extra to have that. It might be that they are trying to get a product out there for the affordability of it.

Control on ours is Off Low and high. Works good. We even used it today

Different models have different settings. The SCR400-B has off, low and high. Some people may think low is warm, but it can boil on low. I use mine everyday and have all sizes. I believe it is the best way to cook meals that come out right every time. Some improvement on the lids could better the quality of the products. I like the way they used to be solid glass or plastic.

I had a Crock-Pot like this one for years. When I broke the ceramic container I was devastated! So I replaced it with this one, and it is much nicer in appearance and works beautifully. I've already made Chicken Parisienne that came out so well! I've got a chili recipe planned for New Year's Day and looking forward to it coming out perfectly too! Collected a bunch of new recipes on the web too, so this will be an appliance I use frequently, especially in the winter.

Best Crock-Pot for the money

I had been thinking about getting a slow cooker for awhile. The Walmart price of the 4quart Crock pot brand was just right. It works great! What a time saver, i can get a great meal going all the while getting other things done.

Because i have a pet at home i don't leave home when the slow cooker is on for fire safety reasons.

Let me say this, a terrible recipe is a terrible recipe and a slow cooker can't do much about that, however a slow cooker can make a good recipe into a great meal of convenience,  meats so tender they break apart at the touch of a fork with veggies done to perfection.

My Cooking Friend

This little (4 QT) is great for small dishes or appetizers. When I originally ordered it I thought it was a larger pot but that was my mistake not Walmarts. I haven't had any problems with the top not fitting as some may have. It is round and not oval, as the picture looks. The only settings are low and high which is fine for me.

I purchased this 4 weeks ago and have used it every single day. It has cooked every meal to perfection. I needed something small enough for a hospital room, yet big enough to feed a family. It has not disappointed!! I would highly recommend this to a friend. Amazing product for the price!

Best purchase I've ever made

We use this slow cooker for potlucks and to keep food warm. Like beans, or nacho cheese 🤤. We've had it for over 8 years and it still works great. We do recommend it.
