Cricut blades arrived as promised, essential to have extra blades on hand for all cricut users. Blades work in all machines: personal V1, create, expression, imagine and E2. Glad I could order blades on walmart.com so easily.

These blades last forever...only wish the mats did, but Cricut makes a great product and Walmart has the best prices.

The secret to the longevity of the blade is learning how to control the speed and pressure dials. I haven't had my Cricut long, but have cut a lot of things with it. I do not think that the blade should be dulling yet, but I'm still learning how to use these dials myself. You just have to experiment until you learn to use it properly.

I'M JUST GETTING MY FIRST CIRCUT EXPRESSIONS MACHINE..Im so excited! but i have alot of question..first off why do you need ink cartridges? and color markers? Also when your online shopping and you see an item that says EXAMPLE; "INDIE SOLUTIONS"..WHAT DOES SOLUTIONS MEAN? iS THIS A LIQUID FOR THE MACHINE OR ANOTHER TYPE OF CHARACTER CARTRIDGE? ALSO THE BLADES ARE CALLED (REPLACEMENT BLADES) IS WHAT I WAS REFERRING TO ABOVE..ALSO OTHER THAN THE BLADES, IS HTERE ANYTHING ESLE YOU HAVE TO OFTEN REPLACE? LIKE YOU HAVE TO DO ON YOUR PC PRINTERS FOR INK ALL THE TIME?THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP...

  • The ones I received were the actual blades that you put into the housing. There are directions in your booklet that show you how to replace the blades. I had a smaller Cricut and just got the larger Expressions and the blades are interchangeable. Hope this helps!

  • The blades work in all the machines, except the cricut cake. The personal cricut, create, expression and imagine and the upcoming E2 all use the same blades. The cartridges marked as "solutions" cartridges are smaller than full content cartridges. The cricut ink markers can be used instead of the blade to draw your design. HP ink cartdigdge with a cricut logo are only for the cricut imagine machine, which has the capasity to print colors and patterns on paper and cut diecuts together. • You don't need ink cartridges or color markers. The markers are an extra item that some people like to use. I don't know exactly what solutions means, but it is just a type of cartridge. Go to cricut.com and review some of the cartridges. The printing pads are the only other thing that has to be replaced, but they do last a long time.

  • Also FYI for anyone reading this. The mats can be prolonged too. All you have to do is claen them with baby wipes everytime they seem to lose their stickiness. (BE SURE TO LET THEM DRY BEFORE USING!!!) If this doesn't work, you can purchase the Zig two-way glue (I recommend the big tipped one for this) and apply it to the mat. Let it dry and it works great again. I also try to rotate between 2-3 mats this helps also. I hope this helps someone.

  • You don't have to have the markers unless you want to use markers, they're an added use of the cricut. Replacement blades come in regular and deep cut so you have to be careful of which you want. The cartridges have lots of different names, "Solutions" refers to a type of cricut machine I believe.

  • You have probably gotten your answers elsewhere by now, but maybe this will help someone else who is new to Cricut. I have had my Expression for about a year...unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to use it and there are still many features I don't know about. You don't 'need' ink cartridges; they are used in place of the blades if you prefer. They draw the image on paper, instead of cutting it out. I have one set of the markers and have used them rarely. The "Solutions" cartridges are a version that is less expensive than the regular cartridges. There are fewer images on them and less options to use. I'd use a "Solutions" for a subject I didn't expect to do often, but I would opt for the regular cartridges for subjects that I frequently scrapbook or make cards for. I have not replaced the blade my machine came with. I find the cutting mats are what need replaced the most often. Buy a spatula...it comes in real handy! Good luck & enjoy!!
