unfortunately, you're not able to assembly studio so the chalkboard is side up. The whiteboard flips down so the chalkboard is now the desk top to help with writting skills. I think it's better this way.

It's not a whiteboard side, it's just a regular plastic side that you can clip paper in. But no, I don't think the way it is put together allows you to have the chalkboard portion sitting up.

That's not a white board,its a clip board with whitepaper,lol,but yeah you can,other side is a chalk board.

The way it is set up, can be used either way, with chalkboard up or paper clip up.

it is up if you are working on the "desk" side, It folds down on the back side of the easel.

If you do the clip will be upsidedown when its up so you couldnt clip paper to it

yes you can assemble it so the chalk side is up hubby did it wrong first time and the kid love it that way but hard to use it for placement of the paper

There is no whiteboard on this. Although I think you could assemble it backwards the two sides have the same parts. So if you wanted to you could.

There is no whiteboard. There is a place for you to clip a piece of paper or fold it down for the chalkboard access. i did not try to edit the assembly.

No i don't think so, but the chalkboard side can be flipped up, it is just flat instead of upright like the easel part.

If they are a very tall 4 1/2 year old I wouldn't recommend it for them.

If your 4 1/2 is a tall child I would not recommend it for them. Because they could very easily be taller than the item. And I don't think that they would enjoy it as much.
