Rated 5 out of 5 by IntlTravelingTrainer This travel trunk is great for flying! I searched everywhere for a locking container with wheels that the airlines would accept within their size guidelines. This was the only one that met the size limitation and would allow me to secure with a plastic tie where a padlock might go, if airport security allowed such a thing. This storage locker went all the way to Africa and back with me on a business trip and was so easy to move from house to car, in and out of hotels and to check in as baggage on my flights. It was the perfect size and shape for my needs. I wonder why all the other, more expensive containers with similar features need to go over the airline size limits? My only disappointment was that the wheels broke off during the last leg of my trip due to direct impact on the bottom wheeled corners while being dropped or thrown during unloading. The airline did take responsibility and was able to order new wheels from Contico for needed repair. I am still waiting to see if their fix meets my expectations, but the price was worth it for even the one trip and I would be happy to purchase another one of these for my next trip. 05/09/2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Solarmann Highly recommend this Contigo for travel This is a great product that I have used for years in travel excursions back and forth across the Pacific to Australia, New Zealand, and even Papua New Guinea. I use these as second and primary suitcases (they have wheels) and they are nearly industructable. Compare that to a $200 Samsonite luggage, hard-shell, where the airline carrier still manages to break the plastic in transit. There is one caveat howerver, this is the "old style" Contigo foot-locker with wheels that has a *superior* hinge to the "newer" kind that you can find at the retail outlet store. There is a big difference, and I especially appreciate that I can find this "older style" on-line. That is exactly what I have been looking for. Basically the lid with hinge cannot be separated from the box, unlike the new models found in the store. Here we have a container that is lockable with TSA approved locks (cable kind; purchase separately) and will travel anywhere. At 62 linear inches Contigo designed the size to be maximum capacity and still fit standard size luggage requirements. Overseas carriers will not declare this "over-size". It is dimensionally correct. Likewise if you ship goods via UPS... their limit is 62 dimensional inches. These simply work.At $30, plus $4 shipping to your door, what is there not to like? I only wish slightly that the external latches were a bit more secure. I use cloth tape, such as Gorilla Tape (tm) to hold down the latches in transit. That works too.I am totally pleased with this product, and my main desire in writing is to encourage more sales, of the "old style" Contigo, such that I can always find this item at Walmart in the future. 04/04/2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by MissionDoc Contico Locker for checked baggage on airlines We have been using these Contico lockers for years to transport medical equipment and supplies to central America for medical mission trips. We use 40-50 per trip so buy them by the dozen each year. The locker is rugged but most importantly you can check it as baggage on most airlines. Each of our volunteers checks two per trip and they are just the right size and allow for up to 50lbs of contents. The wheels have gotten cheaper over the years and nearly 1/3 of the trunks I purchased this year already had broken wheels when I took them out of their boxes.other than that the design is good, the clasps and brackets work well and we can usually get 2-3 trips out of each trunk before we need to replace them. 02/21/2012
