Tricky to assemble but worth it!

I love it! I bought the 5 piece dining set. The table was easy to assemble, took hubby about 15 to 30 minutes. The chairs were the treaky ones, took hubby an hour with the first chair lol but then the rest were easier to do since he got the hang of it. A beer was the trick so he won't get frustrated. One of the chairs wobbles a little bit so don't know if I might call to get a replacement for that specific chair but other than that we love it! We've been wanting a rectangle dining set that doesn't cause so much space and we've got it:) I also love the fact that my 4 yr old can get on the chairs without asking for help and its good that they don't have cushion's so he won't stain them, there easy to just wipe. I love the length, width and height of it, the chairs are comfortable and the table is a perfect size to eat and rest your arms too. Out of the 3 dining sets I've had this one is my favorite! Plus I love the fact that its all black, my favorite color!

    Shaker Dining Table, Black

Shaker Dining Table arrived with a few nicks on box but contents were very well packed and in excelent condition. Purchased the table and four chairs as a set. Walmart had the best price at $199.00 and others companies ranged from $269.99 to $369.00 and did not offer black as a color, only oak and expresso. The table is very easy to assemble and of excellent quality. Table measures 24" wide by 45" long. This is a perfect size for apartment or small dining area. A great value and price.

i like this table; assembly took about 10 minutes. it's very sturdy. this is solid wood (well, rubber wood, but at least it's not particle board). apparently there's a veneer as well. you can't beat it for the price. i also got the matching chairs; will review seperately.

    • I use 409/paper towel, or a slightly damp kitchen towel. Doesn't seem like a high-maintenance table.

    • It is glossy painted wood. Same rules as what you would use on a painted wall or woodwork around windows, etc... Mild Soap on a wet sponge, or VERY diluted Pine Sol for a tough or particularly greasy spot. I would even try Clorox disinfecting wipes, but I would recommend doing an out of sight test spot before wiping down the whole table with one of those. And of course, never use anything abrasive.

    • At first I used windex and it worked great but then I switched to pledge multi surface and it works way better

    • I wouldn't use any products with ammonia or bleach. You can use either an all-purpose cleaner like Lysol or Windex makes a brand also. You can also use a wood cleaner like Pledge but some wood cleaners can make it very greasy. Go for an all purpose cleaner.

    • I just use a regular sponge or Lysol wipes. Does the trick.

    • Just in case someone else has this question....my boyfriend and I frequently sit side by side at the table using armless chairs and we find that we have enough room to maneuver (using two MacbookPros and wireless mice). It is a bit tight to get people at either end of the table when doing this though.

    • depends on the size of the chairs, but I would not think so. Not if you want to be able to push the chairs in once your kids are finished eating.

    • They would fit, but you wouldn't be able to slide chairs in on the end sides of the table. not much space under the table.

    • it depends on the chairs - I use a desk chair with arms - but maybe it would work with a chair that doesn't have arms.

    • Depending on how wide their chairs are. I'm using standard folding chairs, and only one can fit on the long end.
