Rated 5 out of 5 just love it!
I am so enjoying my soft bonnet hair dryer. It's a flashback to a more youthful time in my life. It's a much easier and more pleasant way to dry and curl my hair than holding up my arms while using a blow dryer and then burning my finger tips with hot rollers. I can have a cup of coffee, read a book, what ever and the curls last much longer when dried in with rollers under a dryer hood.
Younger people may not find it as attractive or convenient as I do but for those of us that grew up using bonnet dryers, I think they will absolutely love using one again.
The only thing I don't particularly care for is the way the hood, cord and hose are stored. It's a bit difficult to get everything inside the case. . .the old hat boxes were easier and probably sturdier but not as compact. . .guess it's a bit of a trade off.

I bought this product a month ago and used it about 3 times till now. I think overall it was a good purchase. I am not a USA resident and in my country appliances are 220volts, so when I came here I wanted to buy a 110volts hair dryer and I choose this one for its price. In addition to its cheap price, it is lightweight, of moderate power and the soft bonnet is really big. But, I would have prefered it a lot better if it was more powerfull than 400watts.
When you use it on the low heat you probably will have no problems as it can work continuously for 2 hours. Also, it is good for your hair to be gently dried and the result is good. Unfortunately when your try to use the medium or hot levels, after 20-30 minutes the dryer stops completely and you have to wait about 10 minutes till it works again.
So my advice is to use the low heat and have a 2 hours nap till your hair dries.

Hair Style: Dreadlocks
I have been touching up my own hair for 5 years now and over these years my hair continued to grow. As it got longer, it took longer for it to dry. I tuck all of my hair inside of the bonnet and can comfortably sleep, do my nails, watch tv, or whatever else I need or want to do in a stationary position. I wish that the dryer's heat temperature was a little higher (hotter), but it does get the job done especially for the price!!! Thanks Wal-mart!!!

I recommend this product for it's versatile size and manuverability. When you want to watch a movie and be able to "hear" it as well, this is the hair dryer to have.
Rated 4 out of 5 by OperaGuyHouston Good for the Price.
I agree with most of the other reviews.
The bonnet is somewhat small, and about as thin and light-weight as a shower cap.
The heavy weight of the attached hose pulls down on the bonnet, which was annoying at first, and prevented the hot air from fully circulating.
Now I use a clothespin to secure the hose's nylon cord, and hang it at a higher level behind my head. Problem easily solved, and the bonnet inflates as it should.
Many reviews have stated that these units overheat, and stop working.
I have not experienced this. I use my dryer twice a week, and run it for at least an hour on the highest setting, with no problems whatsoever.
The trick is to make sure the airflow is not restricted. I use my dryer while in bed, and I prop it up on top of a book.
As of writing, I have had this hair dryer for about a month, and have used it around ten times.
I use the dryer for hair and scalp conditioning, and as part of my regimen for treating male baldness and preventing further hair loss.
So far I have seen excellent results. The added heat treatments in my bi-weekly routine has vastly stimulated hair growth, with really impressive results in my hair's improved thickness and texture.
The dryer is also very relaxing to use. I recommend its purchase, and I would buy another one.

Dryer does a pretty good job, however, the hose is too short to get comfortable while hair is drying.
Rated 4 out of 5 by commenting Great dryer
I just wanted to say I have had this dryer for about 3 years and it is still going strong.
It does get very hot so have to always use the med. setting for awhile and then down to cool. and like someone else mentioned I have to put something around my neck as it still is too hot where the hose comes out.
It is too hard to put hose and bonnet back together in case when done so I never do. Just sit on the shelf as is.
All that being said, it has lasted a long time and just had to replace the bonnet recently. I do wish you could order the separate bonnets from Walmart though.
My hair is fairly short so it dries in less than a half hour so I can't speak for those with really long hair...Also for those that say it would get hot and shut off, I only had that happen twice and it was my fault as both times I got it against something that blocked the air vent and it shut down in seconds then came back on in a few minutes. Seems like a built in protection against it getting too hot.
Yes, I love some of the old ones like the lazy daisy, but there isn't much to choose from in the soft bonnet style anymore and this has worked great for me, so when this does quit, I will replace it with same.

I love the dryer. When I first opened it my husband asked what contraption I purchased now. Once I washed my hair and dried it.....he then wanted to get in on the action! (he has locs and so do I) This dryer works great and I could still watch t.v. and take a nap! Highly recommended. Only downfall is now I've been drafted to do my hubby's hair. :)

i had read alot of reviews sayin it cuts off its hard to assemble blah blah blah...All of this was false. The dryer gets verrryyyy hot I am African America and my hair still dries on medium..Easy to put together if you jus follow instructions.. Onli down fall is you may have to twist the camp because the hose is only on one saide so one part of the hair may dry faster than the next..and you have to hold the hose up sumtimes... hope that helped

I read the reviews, which were mixed. I bought the dryer, which arrived at the local Wal-Mart earlier than I expected. The first time I tried it, it worked perfectly for 10 minutes, shut off, and never turned on again.
Rated 5 out of 5 by MtnTopNester Granny loved it
My mother in law had been looking for a lightweight, easy to use bonnet hairdryer and asked me to look for one for her. I found this Conair at a few sites, and it appeared to be well liked by other consumers. She has used it twice, and absolutely loves it! It is so light that she has no difficulty setting it up, and it's a wonderful alternative to the hand held models for someone, like her, who is unable to hold up their arm for a long period of time. Very highly recommended, especially for those who like this type of dryer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by MochaCubsMomma SO much better than I expected...
I bought this product primarily for deep conditioning treatments. I've used it for that and for coloring my hair. Truthfully I love it. I've seen some of the reviews that say the air vent to the bonnet is too short. You have to release the string that collapses the vent COMPLETELY. When you do that, it allows you to be just as comfortable as if you were under the dryer in a salon. I'm able to kick back at the vanity in my bathroom and read a magazine in comfort. Worth every penny!
Rated 5 out of 5 by dynamite141 Great Product!!!
I have major back problems and cannot hold up a regular dryer long enough to dry my hair, therfore this product is perfect for me. It works great and is easy to store. I find myself wanting to wash my hair just so I can use this product. It is a bit noisy but no worse than using a regular dryer, and if it gets too hot I can switch to cool!!!
Rated 3 out of 5 by imageofyou2 Conair soft bonnet
When I first brought this product it worked fine. I am African-American and my daugther and I have very thick hair. So we are accustomed to setting under the dryer for long periods of time. But this hair dryer keeps shutting itself off. I have moved it to different outlets in our home and it still keeps cutting off. The price is great, but the product needs a little work.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cookie55 Excellent product for the price. Convienent and easy to move about for comfort while drying. Would highly recommend. Light weight and comfortable.
Rated 1 out of 5 by LoveToShop7171 Not a good product
This dryer does not dry hair at all and I had it for 6 months and the dryer just stop working. I do not recommend this product. PLEASE DO NOT BUY!!!!!
Rated 1 out of 5 by Traveller123 Barbie's hair dryer
Welcome to Barbie's hair dryer. The power is so weak that it reminds me of a toy. I read other reviews about the low power but took my chances because of overall approval. I say don't waste your $25. I got it to use with conditioning treatments, and the bonnet air didn't even reach the top of my head, WHERE THE BONNET PLASTIC WAS FLAT AGAINST MY HAIR. The plastic was poofy by the back of my neck, and when I reached up to check my crown area, my hair was cold to lukewarm, even with the dryer on its hottest setting. I don't usually write reviews--who has the time?--but I wanted to warn people off of this. I'm mad about the wasted money.
Rated 1 out of 5 by torqtec NOT worth the money
This blower set on max heat, is colder than my other two dryers low setting. The air out put is poor, if you're counting on this to dry your hair forget it.
Rated 4 out of 5 by bear586 Good small bonnet hair dryer
This is a good small hair dryer but its not good for jumbo rollers or big for that matter. I really wished the bonnet was bigger. This way the air will flow easier all around. I have to move the bonnet around my head so it will dry evenly. Its good for treatments and small rollers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by zvart Gives me what I wanted
Conair soft bonnet dryer provides just what is
wanted in a very lean market of such a product.
The only thing that is (slightly) troublesome is
the difficulty in attaching the hose to the bonnet.
The twist-lock connection of the hose end in the
bonnet receptacle is not easy to mate.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Alexis513 This Product is ok
After reading reviews before I bought this bonnet I thought it would be a good-buy. But NOPE! not at all. When using it you have to hold the hose so the air will circulate otherwise it'll just blow heat on the opposite side of where the hose is located. Also, it wont get your whole head of hair dry. I had my hair in rollers & unrolled one curler & it was still wet from root to end. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Its a good price but not worth it if you can't use it the way instructed.
Rated 2 out of 5 by kiskikm Better than nothing...
but barely! I wish I could still find the replacement bonnets for my Lady Dazey, it gave me many years of good service but the bonnets are impossible to find now. The Conair dryer has a bonnet that barely fits over my rollers, and the hose attaches in such a way that it lays against my neck burning my skin if I don't put something around my neck to protect it. I'll use it for now but hope to find a better one or the replacement bonnets for my Lady Dazey some day.
Rated 5 out of 5 by ImmortalChameleon A great buy
This product is well worth they money. I purchased this for an odd reason, we use them for boot dryers and warming heaters up here in MN. The hose extends out longer than 3 feet. The heat settings are great, but very hot. On the high setting I don't know how anybody could stand the heat more than 20 seconds but the others are bearable and work well for warming up the kids under a blanket or drying out boots. The noise is quite loud and keeps out any conversation that isn't necessary. Overall puts out a good volume of air and seems like it will last for a good while. Definitely a good deal.
Rated 1 out of 5 by theoneandonlypebbles conair soft bonnet hair dryer
This product was very hard to put over my head with rollers on, and after 30 minutes it quit working. It would shut off every 10 minutes after that. After being under the hair dryer for 3 hours, my hair was still not completely dry, and the curlers were loose from trying to put bonnent on so there was no curl in my hair at all. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LadyElswet Same Convenience I Remembered
My mom had one of these, and while hers was more durable and made of thicker [more resillient] stuff, this modernized version is just as convenient and works just the same as hers did. Set your hair, put on the cap, and turn it on. Sit under it while you do your nails, catch up on your correspondence, or watch a movie [subtitles may be necessary LOL]. This doesn't fry my ends, doesn't dry out the hair shaft, and takes no talent whatsoever. I LOVE IT! :D
Rated 1 out of 5 by No1PracticalPrincess Wouldn't recommend
The hose that connects to the cap pulls the cap down and prevents adequate airflow throughout the cap. Had cap on for 20 minutes and hair was still damp. Ended up taking cap off and just using blow dryer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by IDAHO01 I am happy with this
I have really long hair and I braid it all the time in one braid and am tired of it drying naturally and taking forever so I thought I'd try this. I have to say... I made a good choice. My hair is thick. It works, is light and gets the job done if your tired of holding a hair dryer. The hose is a little shorter then I would like. I could see it tearing eventually where the hose meets the bonnett as it is very thin. So you have to be careful. It is louder then I thought it would be but you can still watch TV turned up and deal w it. Put on your make up while your hair is drying. Great for drying waves or curls. That's what I do with my braids and then take them out when dry and turns out beautiful. I definitely would recommend. I will get another when this one wears out. I would suggest taking a large hair clip and clip part of hose to your shirt to get it to stay as it weighs down some. This trick works great!
Rated 1 out of 5 by jojo550 Did not work!
Turned this on and after 30 seconds, it shut off, never to come on again. Should have listened to what people were saying on amazon reviews...they were right on..it is a useless product.
Rated 1 out of 5 by MissVP Conair Soft Bonnet-Don't Buy
My high hopes were quickly dashed. First, the hose is very short and tight, so I had to hold the machine rather than sit it on a table. The bonnet was too small to fit over my head with rollers in, so most of them fell out and I had to re-roll. Third, the dryer cut off after 10 minutes. A few days later, it cut off again after barely being on for 10 minutes.
The item arrived in time, I was treated very well by a Sales Associate upon arrival to pick it up, and was treated very well by the Sales Associate who refunded my money. Fortunately it was only around $22.00.
