Coleman Self Inflating Camp Pad 2.4 5 15 16
Don't bother After using my thermarest inflatable pad for 26 years my middle aged back was calling for something thicker and softer for sleeping on while camping. This looked great and worked great - for 2 nights. The third night it stopped holding air, making it completely useless. I then read the reviews on Coleman's own website, and it seems like this is a common problem. Don't get stuck out in the wilderness with nothing to sleep on - buy a better brand. I'm going to see if thermarest makes a softer pad, even if it costs a lot more than this one, it would be worth it. 11/07/2011
Perhaps the biggest dissapointment ever--associated with the name of Coleman.Would not even hold air.Cheap-cheap-cheap--Except for the Price. A load of imported Junk!!! 01/24/2012
Comfortable, but heavy and not very durable Purchased this pad about 6 months ago, used it three or four times. I have two therma rest mats, but needed a third mat on short notice. At $30, this seemed like a bargain and i wasn't too worried about weight as I wasn't planning on using it for backpacking.I got about four uses out of it (three different camping events# before it fell apart. The points in the matress where it is fastened together started coming apart, and in doing so pulling the plastic seal away from the fabric backing. I don't think this kind of leak can be patched. It was also coming apart at the seams (most likely due to my extreme weight of 175 lbs!) and leaking air along the edges. My other two air matresses have been through MUCH more rigorous use, one of which is over 20 years old. If you camp once or twice a year, might be an 'ok' buy, but I would suggest keeping it just a tad under inflated. There is a reason why the other brands cost so much, I guess. 01/16/2012
Returned this product Even allowing a full 24 hrs for the mattress to self-inflate the first time (as specified in the instructions), it was still inadequate for the purpose purchased. This might work fine for kids, but for adults it was still like lying down on the ground, except with your feet and head elevated. Doesn't that sound comfy?! Even manually inflating the mattress didn't help. It just isn't suitable for adults. If you really want this sort of thing, spend a buck or two and get one of those inflatable pool "mattresses." I took the coleman mattress back and got a twin air-bed. 10/24/2011
