I can put up and take down this tent by myself in under two minutes. This tent is phenomenal. As a tip of advice if you are super excited to try out your new tent, when you look at the weather forecast and it gives you a 40% chance of high winds and a thunderstorm don’t do like I did and decide odds are in your favor. Though on the bright side your tent will last through the storm and keep you dry your relationship with your significant other might not fare as well. And the instant setup and takedown is a lifesaver. It started to thunder the second time I took it out and my two year old got pretty nervous. I had it down in under a minute, threw it in the car and avoided spoiling a lifetime of camping enjoyment for him and didn’t have to come back later to collect it. As far as the four person thing is concerned I don’t think this statement applies to people harboring from North America. A fatbody like me and one other person is about all I would feel comfortable with in this tent unless it was mid-winter and we were huddling for warmth… even then I’d probably build a fire and drop the money for a six man tent. I would also recommend keeping this permanently packed in any 96 hour survival kit.

30 seconds up, 30 seconds down, perfect smaller size I needed. Fit a queen mattress and had over a foot spacing on the edges for several small bags, shoes, large duffle etc. Loved it.

This is the easiest tent to set up and take down that I have ever owned. It is not quite as tall as I would like but since I'm 5'3" it is okay. I do find it hard to believe that this tent would sleep four people unless they were packed in like sardines. The tent has room for one queen mattress or two singles. I have only used this tent one time so far but I love it!

I would like to know the folded up size and if it has a bag to carry it in and what those dimensions are. I am interested in replacing my motorcycle camping tent and wonder if it will be practical to carry on the motorcycle.
    by an anonymous customer
    • This is quite a large tent for carring on a motorcycle- 9.8 lbs; tent bag size is large, 10"x 10"x 38". I doubt it would fit in a motorcycle trailer! (I own this tent). I have a small backpacking tent (2 person) that folds up to 4" dia x 12" long, 3.1 lbs. I have used that small tent on both cross-country trips with my cruiser motorcycle, and use the same tent on back-country outings on the dirt bike. The small tent is fabulous! Coleman makes some compact 2 person backpacking tents that are a much better choice!

    • It has a carry bag AND it fits back in it! Measurements are about 37" long by 7" square.

    • I would do it, only 4 feet when in the bag and with the ease of set up and take down. Definitely!

    • It is a long case when wrapped up. Unless you have a small trailer on the back of your bike then I would say not a good choice for your motorcycle. I have seen small backpacking kind of tents. I believe that would work better for you.

    • Since its an instant fold tent, the tent does not fold into a small size. the length is along the lines of a folding chairs. Your circumference is going to be about 5-6 times of a folding pop out chair chair. Do not think it is practical for motorcycle touring.

    • Its about the same as putting two standard camping chairs next to each other. Its a bit longer than i would take on a motorcycle. It would be awsome for that but a bit bulkier that i would suggest.

    • Because of the poles that are pre-attached to the tent, it can't get smaller than about 3 1/2 feet in length and is about 10" wide squared. It does come in a great bag, but I can't see it sitting on a bike.

    • Not very practical for motorcycle camping. The tent is somewhat heavy and cumbersome to carry.

Does this tent come with a rain fly? If not, I wonder how it will hold up in rainy, windy weather.
    by richthib44
    • No rainfly with the tent. Available as an accessory from coleman.com, around $30.00.

    • Does NOT come with a rain fly but one can be purchased separate. Mine held up well to light rain once and has not been tested during another rain.

    • No rain fly, just the tent. So you would need to purchase one to cover the top.

    • No rain fly. It says it does not need it. BUT the tent leaked when I used it in four days of heavy rain.

    • Not well. First set up, leaked at stress points where tabs to external frame are. Unfortunate that Coleman did not include a fly with this tent. Would have made all the difference.

    • No rain fly, coleman says it is waterproof, but after receiving mine, I setup and simulated 5 minutes of easy rain with a garden hose. It started to leak from the top after 2 minutes, after 5, it had a small pool in the middle of the tent. Definitely would not withstand a day of rain. Rain Fly is definitely needed. The door also when you open it, all the rain from the top, funnels vigorously into the tent.

    • it does not come with a rainfly but you can purchase one made exclusively for this tent as an accessory

    • There is no rain fly. Its a single wall tent so there is no need for a rain fly. It did extremely well in the rain as when we took it out it rained all night. You do get some Condensation on the inside due to the single wall but a small tent fan eliminates that. I was vbery happy with how well it stood up against the wind.

    • This tent has a built-in rain fly on the top. Don't know about wind, but it holds up great in the rain.
