I bought this one day before our camping trip, so I had no time to test run it. We camped on the Washington Coast and of course as soon as we got there it started to rain, drizzle, but still wet! When we started to go to bed it started to pour, poured all night! Not one drop of water go into the tent and this was without water sealing it. Very impressed, because the rain was relentless. Super easy to put up and nothing was missing with ours and we had no stitching errors at all. This was a replacement tent that had two rooms and was way to big for us. Did not like having two rooms, like the idea of one big room much better. We had one queen and one twin mattress in the tent with plenty of walking room. Highly recommend! Happy camping to you.....

Got this tent for a weekend camping trip to a coastal Island only accessible by boat. The tent was compact and light enough to easily fit in the bow of a 10' Kayak. Set up was quick and simple for 2 people, all the components were of good quality (for beach camping I would recommend some longer stakes). Tent is very roomy and also airy without the rain fly. The true test came on our last night when severe storms rolled up the coast. This tent rocked!, literally. We were buffeted by 40 - 50 mph winds with torrential rain fall and small hail. Even though the stakes weren't holding the tent held it's integrity. The wind was coming out of the south which was where the door of the tent was facing. The tent rocked violently as it was hit broadside by heavy gusts. Considering what was thrown at it I'd say it was pretty tight. The only visible leak was a tiny drip from the tie that secures the door window when open. We did spray the seams with a water proof sealer before the trip.

love this tent!!! While I was putting this up it started to rain really hard & the wind was blowing hard too. I didn't seal the seams or spray it with scotch guard & tent was dry as a bone. This was all in my back yard can't wait to take it camping next week in the Colorado mountains. Coleman out performed my ozark trail tent, which I seal the seams when I bought it. The Coleman fabric makes sure the water runs off & it doesn't saturate the tent. Buy this tent, you won't be sorry.

    • Unless you are driving a Mini Cooper, it should fit very nicely. It comes in a storage bag that is about 6 inches square by 30 or so inches long.

    • Yes, it is a fairly small rectangle-shaped bag. I have a Nissan Sentra and it fits in my small trunk along with a lot of other equipment.

We need a tent that will protect us from rain, etc but also will keep us cool at night as we live in TX.
    by txcaro 8/21/2011
    • Yes, I used it at a desert lake...plenty of good circulation, if you have a breeze that is.

    • Mesh top with ground vent should provide adequate ventilation with fly.

    • I live in NE Texas. Knowing what I know now, I would NOT reccommend this tent. The end windows are very small slit windows. The door and rear wall have nice large windows. The roof is mesh with a rain fly over it. The fly can be removed for ventilation, but would provide no protection from rain or sun. Caveat Emptor.

    • Yes it does. It was 92 degrees on our camping trip and of course the tent got warm during the day, but in the evening when the sun went down we opened the windows and it literally cooled off in about 10 minutes.

    • it depends on your definition of good!a lot of reviews claim the ventilation on this tent is too good(doesnt hold heat, rain penetration with wind).
      by unk15/22/2012

    • Yes, you can open the door window with rain fly on without getting rain inside. Also one large window on each end of tent that's protected by rain fly. There is a vent in bottom center of rear wall also.

    • This tent has great air circulation. The top of the tent is mesh screen, lots of air. (The rain fly fits about 3 inches above.) Sometimes this tent is a liitle too cool for early-season Colorado camping.

    • Tent has good air circulation. Most of the top is made of mesh and there are 5 windows. I wouldn't trust it in the rain. Maybe fine, but seems a bit uncertain.

    • It has a mosquito net top all the way around and a vent that opens when you have the door shut which is a big netted window. ventilation is great. I have been sleeping in 90 degree nights all summer...
