We always keep one of these around heading into a New England Winter. We can have our coffee, tea and soup during a power outage. Be Prepared.

Great for off road

As far as the gas and container go, it works great in my Optimus stove and my Primus mini-lantern.  My Optimus Elektra FE cook set is designed to hold a Optimus fuel canister inside the compact pot system and this Coleman tank fits fine as well.   I wish my Walmart would stock some other sizes.  

The Coleman canisters are stackable for easy storage, I just wrap a piece of packing tape around the joint where the canisters come together.  I also put a piece of packing tape over the top fitting until I am ready to use the canister as there is no cover seal keeping dirt and debris out of the fuel port.  They hold 220g of the fuel blend and the whole canister when full weighs in at ~360 grams.  The fuel blend is supposed to provide for good service at extremely low temperatures, but I have not conformed this feature.       I deducted one star for the lack of a fuel port cover but otherwise a great product.

Gassy

Great fuel -- I use it with my little Peak 1 backpacking stove, which delivers a lotta BTUs for its size. Only drawback is the price. So more often, I tend to use my other camping stove that delivers the same number of BTUs (10,000) using "ordinary" (and less expensive) propane. That stove is not as nifty as the Peak 1, but I can operate it cheaper. With BTUs equal, I prefer something less nifty that I can operate cheaper (and store up more fuel for future emergencies with less $$$).

Great fuel, but a bit too pricey

Bought this for a Primus hiking stove. Seems to work well for 1/2 cost

Good low cost fuel

I don't know if I got a dud. It only worked on high for about 30 seconds. After that it was barely burning, enough heat for a low simmer after 10 minutes with the lid on. It was brand new and was not low on fuel.. It was a fuel delivery issue.

Will not be using this again.

Only Worked on Low

Completely unreliable. Tried it on two different trips in warm weather and cold weather and no luck. Plenty of fuel in the canister but it's too heavy to reach the flame maybe? Shaking helps and so does tipping but that's dangerous. Hooked up my propane equipment and it worked just fine. Tried refilling canister but no luck. Shame bc I was trying to pack light for hiking and wasted money.

Unreliable mixture.

WARNING! ONLY USE WITH COLEMAN STOVE.
I purchased this canister as it was easier to find, used with my Primus stove. On July 4th, while stove was lit the canister leaked and the tank caught on fire and eventually exploded. Stove destroyed and very scary.  Thankfully it has rained, so no forest fires sparked and additionally no human injuries. I researched the issue a bit and these canisters are produced somewhere different than MSR, Jetboil, Primus and have a slightly shorter thread pin and thinner metal which can cause this leak.
