First thing I did is start it warming my shop outside. Took out to my trailer and fired it up again. No problem, fired up nicely and began to heat my trailer, very efficiently and quickly. Great heater and much larger than I imagined. This is the perfect heater for low prices, I did not want to spend $85 to $100 for a heater. This is perfect for camping also, that is why I bought one, because we used one while camping with some friends. Quality and price = Coleman

We bought this heater to take the chill out of the tent. We used it only for short periods of time (up to 30 minutes). It was easy to light using a fire stick and it very quickly took the chill out of our 6 person family tent with an outside temperature of about 35°.

We have an off-grid cabin and we love to go off-grid rv-ing; this little heater is perfect for both of those applications. We have used it when the outside temp. was hovering in the teens and it really took the chill off and kept us toasty. If you want a bit better heat circulation, buy the next model up as it comes with a battery operated fan. Of course the downside of that is the need for batteries. All in all, this is a great heater.

    • my husband uses this in his car, vents the back window alittle. Safety advice would be to keep away from children, and to take the tank off when not in use so it doesn't get turned on accidentally like my husbands did.

    • this heater does not require it be vented so you can use this indoor or outdoor dont matter and it will be safe

    • It's designed to be used indoors - in a tent actually. Manual says to at least have a fresh air opening of 6" square and to not use around flammable liquids or vapors.

    • It does say that it can be used indoors, but there needs to be ventilation. Claims that the burning of propane uses oxygen, and can put off carbon monoxide. Little scary. I used it all night in a dome tent, with a part unzippered a bit. Seemed to work fine.

    • None are given but they would be common sense - keep it away from anything flammable (a few feet or so), etc

    • It really is the safest I've found so far. The only restriction is not to let anything lay/fall over it, It will leave a burn mark . Our son pushed it back when he got to hot and was unaware he had it up against the back of our Coleman tent and the material was resting over it. The next morning after 6 hours like this our tent was left with only a burn mark/stain., no holes and no flames.. Thank Goodness!

    • Not while in use, although you may smell propane occasionally while connecting or disconnecting the propane tank.

    • Yes, but it wasn't a bad least not to me. Others have said in their reviews that it stinks, so I was expecting it to be much worse. I actually didn't notice much of a smell after about 5 minutes.

    • there are no temp markings in heater just a less or more scale and yes if you have it on a lower setting you will use less gas = more time per bottle

    • The adjustment knob is basically full, medium, and off. So I'm guessing medium is 1500 btu's - which is similar to the lower-end model that gets about 14 hours of heat out of a standard disposable cylinder. So, somewhere between 7 - 14 hours if you don't keep it on full blast the whole time.

    • In my experience with this product, one 15.4 ounce bottle of propane lasted me about 13 hours on low and on high I got about 7 hours plus or minus. There is no thermostat per se, but there is a high and low setting.
