The water spout is also a cap that can be screwed On and Off. There's also a cap on the back of the handle, it can be taken Off to relieve pressure.

The main spout unscrews, and comes off for filling, it has the spigot attached to it and then you also have the air vent cap at the other side of the jug.

Yes it does. Lead goes off, I put water, and lead goes on. Be very careful, do not lost tiny plastic ring inside of lead, It protect water from leakage.

No, not without opening it.
But, the point of this container is to keep light out, hinder bacteria growth and algae from light and store water for a long period.
Purchase the drops for water storage and set this aside for 5 years or however long the drops say you can.
When the need arises for you to open and use your emergency water, it will likely be as full as you had when you placed them in storage.
If need be of course you can always open the jug if you aren't storing it long term.
If you are however storing it, do not open it for any reason, if you do, you have to retreat the water and that is costly.

No, it is not visible. I take the 'measurement' by weight. I use it for mineral water. It is always on my kitchen with saratioga mineral water. If I can lift it then it is soon will be time to re-stack.

I do have clear one too. I do not like it. After two times supply the water carrier started to get some witness in corners. I use it for mineral water, it is different, a lot of gas.

Another point with clear is that it is very inconvenient to use and to carry. Blue one has handle on the top, very convenient. Also it has a vent so it is easy to use. just open the focid. Last one, it is only to carry water but then clear one I have to put water into another container for use. Blue one I put on kitchen, and it is all ready to use.

When you are going to carry water from distance as I do, put scotch around the vent that water will be safe. At home you can take it off. This is only for transportation. Also be very careful with lead. There is small tiny plastic ring, do not loose it. It protects water from leaking when blue is in use. Be careful when close the fosid, just do it very right in the center. It is also protect water from leaking. I did not realise it first time I started to use blue one. (I do have 13 of them)

Yes IF you use the drops for water long term storage. I bought mine from Amazon, Water Preservation drops is what they are called. Wal-Mart sells a lower cost and less effective and less guaranteed way to preserve water using the tablets or drops they do sell.
I put 15 gallons in storage months ago and have a 5 year storage life on that.
Water Preserver Concentrate is what it is called, comes in a white bottle, is liquid and requires 48 drops per 5 gallons. Approx.
Warranty is pretty standard for Wal-Mart 1 year, limited warranty, if you have a problem return it with receipt etc. for refund or exchange if it is site to store contact them through the website here and set up a return.

I store Mineral Water about three month. Mineral Water comes with carbon dioxide, very very much gas content. Container became as balloon, almost round, but holds. I did not store for two years, but I think if put water pills to keep water fresh it will be OK.

I couldn't believe we could still get these because we have had our first one so long so we grabbed another one. Coleman put a great non-slip surface on this so it's easy to handle when setting in place. Before we took it camping we put warm water and some lemon juice in it overnight to get the new plastic smell and taste out of it.

Great size, easy to handle

Seemed to be very sturdy and durable. Like it even better than the ones we bought 20 years ago. Have our own water well so always good to have emergency water just in case we lose power and can't operate our pump. Liked the fact it was from Coleman which has been a great camping brand for years.

I tried the Ozark Trail Desert Patrol 6-Gal Water Jug first. It was shaped nice and narrow and with a larger spout opening, but it seemed too flimsy or thin walled and too heavy with the 6 gallons. The vent plug also was cheaply designed and not built to last in that I read that it would leak over time. I think this Coleman 5 gallon jug is not too heavy and just right for carrying one or two jugs at a time. It is also of a thicker plastic.

Great Water Cans

Rinse a few times before using. It's a nice compact size that holds exactly 5 gallons. I never liked the big bulky bottles for water dispensers. Make sure you drink or empty out the water carrier before filling. I love the big handle to carry this with 2 hands. Features: Big Handle, Water Spout, and Pressure Release Spigot, Blue Color. I'm thinking about buying another one :D

Perfect water container !!!

I received my six 5 gallon Coleman containers very quickly from Walmart. I recently filled all of them and stored them in the basement. They are a little heavy as water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon. So take this into consideration when deciding on your choice of storage areas. It comes with a  convenient valve that is included with each container attached to the cap , even though that valve is not that noticeable in the picture supplied by Walmart.  I washed them out initially with a small amount of water before doing the final fillup of each container. What can I say further.... They do not leak and they feel like pretty thick plastic. And they are the right type of plastic for water storage. They carry easily. A quality product.

In my town the water is undrinkable. It is pure poison so I need to store good drinking water. I had been doing the oodles of gallon jugs every month. However, this month I decided to try something different. I was pleasantly surprised by the durability of the container. The pour spout works great - not stiff or hard to turn. When the container is on it's side - it really doesn't take up as much room as I thought. I normally refill small water bottles - but with the pour spout I no longer need to do this. In this way I am saving space as well - a nice bonus!!
