Pretty much. If you prefer to feel the clock directly, you can always put the vibrator below the pillow. However, it should be fine putting it under the mattress.

My kids (teenagers) each have one of these alarm clocks. The 'bedshaker' piece goes under their pillow - not the mattress. I don't know if it is powerful enough to work under a mattress...

Yes, as there is just a small round piece you put either under your pillow or mattress that is connected by a long cord to the alarm clock.

The shaker is just a disk thing that you slide between the mattress and the boxspring, or I guess you could put it under a pillow, instead, so I imagine it could work for any type of bed other than under a waterbed mattress of course.

For A Heavy Sleeper

I purchased this for my teenage daughter who has a hearing disability she wanted to be able to get herself up in the morning to get ready for school. it has been working great in giving her the independence that she desired.

Great Clock

Works absolutly GREAT! I am hard to wake up and usually set two or sometimes even 3 different alarm clocks. This one clock does it all, with great features that you can change the tone pitch from sharply high to low obnoxious. The flashing lamp and bed vibrating are cool and provide enough distractions that I wake up to this one alarm clock only now!!! I love it!

WONDERFUL for a deep sleeper who's hard to wake up

The clock finally lets me go about my own business and not wait around the waiting for my wife's alarm to go off, so that I can shake her awake.
The only problem is that the light that indicated that the alarm is set cannot be turned off under any condition. Is it set or not??

I have needed this for quite some time. I am very hard of hearing and the alarm with different tones works and the bed shaker is a must have. Now I need a smoke detector that will warn me.

Works Great

I am deaf so using the usual alarm clock is out of the question. This clock flashes my bed lamp for 5 minutes (more if I set the snooze alarm) and vibrates my mattress. It is simple to operate, and best of all it works. I would definitely recommend this clock alarm for anyone with hearing problems.

A good performer

This alarm clock is amazing! My son would never wake up to his old alarm clock even when it was set at it's highest volume (that I could hear with both his door closed and my door closed). My son is in marching band and has early morning practices before school so I had to wake up before 5:30 in the morning in order to wake him up for his practices. Now with the bed shaker feature his alarm doesn't have to be set very loudly at all and he wakes up all by himself (and I get to sleep until a decent hour!). Hooray!

I've been using it for a couple weeks now and I love it! I'm hard of hearing and this type of alarm clock was recommended to me by my audiologist. I liked this one because it was inexpensive, especially compared to some of the others I've seen in specialty catalogs. I have hgh frequency hearing loss so I really love that the tone control allows me to make the alarm sound lower so I can hear it easier, not as if I couldn't hear it with as LOUD as it is (also adjustable). I like the bed shaker and lamp flicker, too. There is no way for me to sleep through it like I used to do with my old alarm clock (it was just a regular alarm clock with the standard beep beep beep, which I regularly slept through.) An added bonus for me was that it also has a home security feature in that it can be toggled to automatically turn the light on and off randomly 6pm - 11pm to make it appear as if someone is home.

Perfect for hard of hearing / deaf / heavy sleeper

Great clock for my child who is a heavy sleeper. The product also has a great display for seeing the time in the dark. I like all of the features on the clock. I wish there was an option for combining two alarm features rather than all three. Example: the bed shaker and the light rather than all three. Outside of this detail, great on all levels.

Alarm arrived defect out of the box. Wont work with bed shaker and keep resetting the clock and alarm without triggering the bed shaker. Returned it to the store for a full refund the same day it was received!
