nice knives, but had to sand them very good quality. not quite smooth wood, tho. had to sand a little, very nice now 04/14/2011
bridging formal and casual use I love the feel and weight of these steak knives. . They are very sharp and for forged knives, they are very reasonably priced. The only negative is that they need to be handwashed as directed. The walnut handles probably would not last in the dishwasher. Everyone that has used them has commented on them. Even though they have wooden handles, they are not out of place with an elegant place setting.If they could be put in a dishwasher, they would merit 5 starts instead of 4. 06/29/2010
Nice. But... So close. But the finish on the walnut handle is a bit rough to the touch on a few pieces. I can see that the rough finish is more suceptible to moisture and wear and tear from washings. I'll probably sand them down with some fine grained paper and oil the finish. Shouldn't have to though. 06/03/2010
