Overall not bad. Nice sharp knives.The steak knives could be too "thin". Not sure.Tried to sharpen them with a handheld ceramic sharpener and it was taking too much metal off the knife.Stick with the supplied sharpening rod.Bread knife is nice. Good thick metal. Sliced right through backed french break cleanly.Don't chop on glass, just wood cutting boards, or the edge will dull after one use.Hand wash the knives, and keep the handles from soaking in water. 01/30/2011
Not what they used to be I own some old chicago cutlery, ( pre 1989 knives before world kitchen bought them) so I bought a new set to fill in the gaps. The new hardware is certainly not a good as the old hardware. The knives handles started to show wear after the first few hand washings. The engraved numbers on the handles are gone, and the logo has been transferred to the blade where it can be scrubbed off. I have had difficulty forming a cutting edge on some of the knives because the factory did not grind all of the way to the back edge of the cutting surface. 12/05/2011
Awsome Cutlery Set Great set of cutlery especially since it is a Chicago set which has had a great reputation for producing some of the best cutlery sets in the USA. My wife and I purchased this cutlery set for my mother-in-law for Christmas to replace her old set which is falling apart. After reading up and comparing the different cutlery sets available we decided to purchase this Chicago Cutlery Walnut Signature series set. My mother-in-law has used them everyday since and raves on how they are the sharpest knives she has ever had and how comfortable they feel while being used. Per consumer report they suggested that "FORGED' cutlery sets were the best and the only way to go. We give this set 5 - Stars 12/29/2011
