After looking all over locally and the internet I finally found this magnetic knife holder at my Walmart! It was easy to install and holds 8 knives very securely. Very competitively priced with other internet offerings and no shipping plus I'm supporting my local economy -- a huge plus for me.

This product looks really good on the wall. Good magnetic ability on holding several larger knives without any problems. Space saving and no worry about cutting fingers or hand due to reaching into a drawer to retrieve a knife. Am very glad purchased this item. Also frees up counter space by not having a knife holder.

I am looking to spruce up my sons bedroom and saw an awesome do it youself idea where a magnetic strip was secured to the wall to hold small matchbox cars. Do you think this would work for that? The one I saw in the project was a solid strip, not like this one. Thanks for any info!

    • yep I think it would work fine for metal toys.

    • I just tried this with 3 hot wheels and they did not stick. I don't know if matchbox are different.

    • I think you'd be better off building your own strip by purchasing some sort of magnetic device and adding it to metal or wood backing.....these wouldn't hold a lot of those cars....but ideal consept! I think these would double in a shop or garage more suitably for tools just like they are...

    • I tested it with some of my daughters Hot Wheels collection and they did not stick. Sorry, but I just don't think that they have enough steel vs plastic in them anymore.

    • As long as there is metal on the cars...make sure they are not aluminum. If you can get a magnet to stick to the cars then this should work great. The magnet is pretty strong so there shouldn't be any problem holding up a small car.

    • Yes I do believe this would work as long as they are metal.

    • yes it needs to screw in place. Has a powerful magnet so needs to be fastened tightly to the wall.

    • Yes, it screws into the wall. In my opinion unless you carefully drill a hole in the ceramic with the appropriate drill, I wouldn't want to risk damage to the ceramic backsplash.

    • Yes. it has two screws that need to be installed.

    • There are screws used to mount it. The strips are not very heavy so if you can figure some other way to mount it it should still work. It mounts but putting screws in the wall. They are black plastic plus that go on each end that slide into the screws to hold it in place...similar to how telephones get hung on walls with a screw slightly out and the phone page slides on. If you can find something that you can stick to the wall and slide the piece into it it should work. Hope this helps.

    • Yes, it is held by screws (supplied). I drilled through my ceramic tiles with no problem. Put a piece of masking tape on the tile to prevent the drill from slipping and to mark the exact locations for the screws.

    • Yes, it gets screwed in place. It needs to be put up securely, as the magnetic strip really grabs onto the blades
