Thanks walmart for an amazing deal. This USB drive works just fine and have no issues losing data or images. I have been using this brand for several months and they do what they are suppose to do. Walmart has some great deals on 32GB class 10 SD's as well.

    • Yes, USB flash drives can be used to backup your computer. As with any backup, it is recommended to have multiple backups on various devices. The more redundancy, the less chance you have at data loss.

    • You may be able to back up the OS on a new Machine, but this device would not be adequate for doing a complete backup on a computer that has been in use for a while. If you have documents, photo's, movies, etc. then generally you need an external HD ~ as large as your computers disk drive for a complete backup. Generally when you run the backup utility it will tell you how much storage it requires.

    • Yes, but it depends what kind of "backup" you wish to do. If it's just your "documents" folder Just copy and paste to this thumb drive. That would include your "photos"," Music" All your files under your user account. Assuming of course it fits, meaning total is not more than Thumb Drive Capacity.

    • It does not come with software for doing a backup, but it can be used for storing backup files. Find free back-up software on the web.

    • You can back up files, images, docs and etc but you will not be able to back up your acutal computer/hardware. A USB is a storage unit to store or back up documents.

    • It should work to transfer your files as long as you also have the programs on the new computer needed for the files.

    • You can copy or transfer data files among computers with this flash drive. Note however, if you want to transfer not only files but the entire operating system, you have to create an image --see Control Panel/Backup and Restore-- of your hard disk and copy the image to the new computer.

    • Yes, you can use it to transfer data as long as the data is not larger then 32 GB. If it is, you can transfer it in sections. Load up to 32 GB on the flash drive, then up load to your new computer. Then delete data from the flash drive and load more data from your old computer, etc...

    • if you are transfering just files and pictures, yes, but only about 31.5GB at a time. this could be slower than what you want, but it is cheaper than having one of the box stores do it for you

    • YES, you can use this, but it's highly recommended to use an external hard drive (something with a larger capacity) if you are transferring a large amount of files, a good measure is to take the size of all the files in your documents folder and music, video folders and add that together. if those sizes together are larger than the 32gb Centron that it is recommended to get an external hard drive to make your transfer in one instance, but this flash drive (centurion) as a lot more portable so take a look at whats better suited for your present and future needs.
