    This Celestron Digital Microscope with LCD Digital Display is a highly innovative digital biological microscope. This Celestron LCD microscope has unique features such as a built-in digital camera for snapshots or short videos of your specimens, three objective lenses, and top and bottom LED illumination to make this digital microscope the ideal tool for scientific explorers of almost any age. This digital microscope has three objective lenses with 40x, 100x and 400x optical magnification levels. The Celestron LCD microscope also features 512 MB memory to store photos.


    Celestron Digital Microscope with LCD Digital Display:
    • LCD Screen: This unique device that replaces the traditional eyepiece with a high resolution 3.5" (88mm) LCD display. This bright screen allows for clear viewing of microscopic worlds by individuals and groups alike.
    • Magnification: Three objective lenses provide 40x, 100x, and 400x optical magnification levels. This combined with 4x digital zoom allows you to view objects at up to 1600 times their original size.
    • Illumination, Brightness & Color: The LCD Digital Microscope is equipped with top and bottom LED Illumination, brightness controls and a six position color filter wheel that lets you get a bright and clear view of your specimen in any lighting conditions.
    • Capture Stills and Videos: Once you've set up a perfect shot, the Celestron Microscope's built in 2 megapixel digital camera will help you take a vibrant, high resolution photo of what you see on the screen. When a picture is just not enough, the LCD Digital Microscope allows you to record short videos of the microscopic action.
    • Storage: 512 MB memory provides ample storage for your pictures and videos. The SD Card slot allows you to expand the storage capacity with optional memory cards (sold separately).
    • Includes: Five prepared slides of various microscopic specimens, USB cable and carrying case.

I like the screen to view specimens rather than straining my eyes to look through an eyepiece. The case that it comes with is nice to have, I don't have to worry about what to store it in when I need to put it up. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone interested in a microscope that is above and beyond a "kids" microscope. 04/08/2010
    Rated 3 out of 5 by Not so impressed Although the construction and feel of the product is top-notch, it just wasn't able to provide very clear images, even at lower magnification settings.Due to the fact that it is entirely digital, the LCD screen would constantly readjust itself. When the light source is turned up, the screen gets brighter, but then adjusts back down to what the microscope "thinks" is best. No control.I've already returned it and will be looking for a standard/non-digital microscope, and purchase an optional digital camera adapter when needed. 03/05/2010

The microscope won't allow less than a 40x zoom, which is too magnified for our purposes. Focus is not the best either. I had to return it due to this reason. 03/09/2010
