it doesnt come assembled but is really easy to do yourself

It does not come assembled, but was of the easier items that I've put together.

put together is a mystery too many pieces and no written instructions except several very confusing pictures!! why can't these things be shipped all together even if it costs a little more!!

I would imagine that this cart -can- cope with the weight of a TV and DVD player which have widths similar to the cart's. My microwave is old and therefore heavy. But it seems comfortably situated on the top shelf.

Definitely yes for a dvd player, as for the TV, that would depend on the size. The cart itself is very sturdy, but check the measurements with your TV to see if it'd work.

I only put a conventional oven and some can goods on the shelves. The wheels do lock.

I think so. I put a coffemaker there and I think they're about the same height.

It's 14 inches between bottom and middle shelves.

The height of the bottom shelf is 14" and the middle shelf is 10-3/4", so your KitchenAid Mixer would only fit on the top.

I was wondering the height of the bottom shelf because I want to store my kitchenaid mixer on the bottom and it's height is 17"

The first time I ordered this piece, after I got it home from the store and opened the box, it looked like it had literally been "drop shipped". The legs of the cart were shattered and some of the other pieces were scratched. Immediately, I went online and ordered a replacement. When it came, I opened the box to find everything in perfect condition. Within 15 minutes,I had the cart assembled and rolled into the kitchen. Just the perfect size to hold a microwave oven in my tiny kitchen. This cart looks like those that are double the price. Sturdy, great looking and so funtional.

Great for small spaces!

Works great for the what I bought it for, I have mobility problems and needed something that would keep certain electric appliances usable without bending and lifting from cabinet too counter. Cart is perfect height and my Cuisinart Griddler fits perfect and slides up against the counter to plug in. Nice piece of furniture. :)
