it has both, but I am using it only with the pressure mounts and it is working just fine. The instructions do say, however, that if you use it at the top of stairs that you should always use the cups that come with to secure it better.

The gate has 4 adjustable tensioners that holds the gate in place. This allows for adjustablity. You should be able to adjust the tensioners that hold the gate in place for a more narrow width at the bottom of the gate. Then adjust the tensioners at the top of the gate wider where it will connect to a wider area.

Yes. Each corner adjusts separately so it can be adjusted to snugly fit uneven walls.

I have thick baseboards on bottom of the wall will this fit top & bottom with these uneven walls?

It has a spring bolt that fits into a hole, so lock? no, but it holds the door shut.

Works just like I hoped. Keeps our medium size dog from getting to the litter boxes but cats go through the door easily. I can step over it without a problem. Glad I ordered it.

I love this mini gate. It keeps my dog out and lets my kitties through. Great for senior and special needs kitties who don't want to jump a full height gate. And nice for doorways that you don't mind stepping over something low. I actually bought 2 and use the 2nd under a desk to create a kitties only sleeping space. Mine love it!

Awesome little gate

Very sturdy gate, even with an extension added.  Love the shorter gate for smaller dogs.  The gate is nice looking and much easier to step over.   This gate wouldn't be my first pick for spots where you're going to need to take it up and down all the time due to the way you secure it.   It's not difficult, but definitely takes a little more time.   Love the pet door too. My dog goes in and out the door with ease.

This gate is what we had been looking for for a long time. We had been using children gates but they were too tall. We couldn't step over them and we had to completely remove them to go into another room.

With the Carlson gate that is only 18inches tall, we can easily step over this gate to move from room to room. The little doggy gate is the perfect gate for our little chihuahua to run from the living room to her kennel.

We did need to purchase an addition extension in addition to the 2 that are provided but we have an extremely large doorway into our hallway. For most homes with everything which is provided in the product, you shouldn't need to get any additional pieces.

If you have more than one small to medium-small dogs this gate is perfect for you! Dogs will be stopped from moving from room to room and only the dog you want to be allowed through will get in.

Only wish I would have found this gate years ago! That you Carlson for thinking about the needs of smaller dog owners!!

Exactly what we needed.

So if you extend the side screws, you wind up creating a gap that's bigger than the spaces between the bars. I got this for my puppy and she gets through the 2 sides. Good concept, but the bars should be closer to the ends of the product to prevent this issue. Even with adding a piece of wood to this to make the gap smaller, my pup gets through.

nice easy to use gate with 1 issue

I thought it was pressure that held the gate in the doorway but it had to be mounted on the door frame. Height perfect and I have 2 dogs that like to claim my bedroom as theirs by marking in competition.  Can't do that now! Little dog door is stupid and a fence w/o that could be cheaper. Nice to have that option

The gate said it was 48" however that was with the extensions that hold it in place. After setting it up my Morkie ran right through the side of it because the space was to large.

Too short

This gate is so tiny my teacup pom-chi (4 lb dog) can hop right over it with ease. Waste of money unless its a mental barrier.
