Pretty good quality-wise I've assembled a lot of veneer on particle board, camlock furniture pieces, and I rate this one at the top, quality-wise. The veneer is real, finished wood, and the hardware is beefier than I usually see. The packaging is more robust, too. I have only one beef with this product. They paste a rather large generic warning sticker on one of the sides. Besides warning about the tipover hazard, more than half of the sticker tells you how to deal with the drawers that the bookcase of course doesn't have. If you don't want this ugly sticker on your bookcase, figure 30 to 45 minutes to remove it. It's firmly attached with solvent-based cement. 02/05/2010
Partical board mostly the description said solid wood and wood product. Makes you think it should have decent amount of solid wood. But it's not true. The only solid wood parts are the top and the little brace on the bottom. 04/27/2010
What I expected... The bookshelf was easy to put together, very sturdy, and it was a good buy. I do think something like this shouldn't cost as much considering I purchased a taller and about the same quality bookshelf for actual books for my living room, for like $20 less then this. But it was the perfect size for my 20 month old's, redone room. Went along great with the Canwood twin bed I purchased also. 12/02/2010
