Mainstays Widetop Ironing Board

I never dreamed I would pay as much money as I did for an ironing board. And I also paid for delivery because I didn't want to wait 10 days to receive it. It was definitely worth it. The board is substantial, doesn't wiggle, and is easy to put up and take down. I thought it needed additional padding and an ironing board cover and purchased both. If you want a lasting ironing board and can afford the extra cost, I would definitely recommend this board.

I have only used it a couple of times but it adjusts so that it is easy on my back when I have a number of items to iron. The width of the board provides more ironing space and a quicker job.

This thing is beautiful and sturdy! I've never owned such a terrific ironing board. I know it seems silly to get so enthusiastic about an ironing board but if you have a bad one it can be very annoying. This ironing board is wide and stable. The shelf at the end to hold the iron and starch bottle is perfect! I've dropped my expensive iron several times because the old ironing board would tip very easily. The Widestop has four very sturdy legs and is incredibly stable. It comes with a rudimentary cover so I bought a lovely stripped heavy duty pad. I always thought I hated ironing but now I realize I hated the ironing board not ironing. My family wears a lot of natural fabrics like cotton & silk. So ironing is a necessity.

I did a lot of research and was really hoping this was as good a deal as it sounded. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The whole thing is pretty cheap (you get what you pay for), and the pad was way too thin so you could feel the metal through it (NOT good for ironing, as it leaves marks and doesn't iron smoothly). To top it off, ONE OF THE FOUR LEGS WAS SHORTER THAN THE REST, so it obviously couldn't stand up right, which meant I definitely had to return it. Not even going to try to get a replacement, I'm just going to buy a higher quality one elsewhere. Bummer. I will say it was easy to return for a refund to my Walmart store, no questions asked. (P.S. I was looking for an ironing board that was slightly wider than a standard one, but this is really quite significantly bigger than I expected; rather unwieldy and wouldn't fit in my ironing board holder on the back of my closet door. Some people might want that, but for me it was a problem. Just take note.)

Great ironing board. Nice and wide for ironing things like drapes. The Pad is thick. Very sturdy and well made. Has adjustable height which suprised and pleased me. Nice little shelf which doesn't get in the way. And lastley it looks great. I got the bronze and it is really pretty and expensive looking.

This is a very nice, wide ironing board. Great value for the price!

Surely wish I'd had this ironing board for the last 25 years. It's rock steady and the extra width makes ironing everything easier. Great gift for a bride or someone who sews. The place at the end to set your iron when shifting big pieces of fabric (tablecloths or curtains, for instance) is wonderful.

Since the last cheap, flimsy, wobbly ironing board I had was unable to even be folded up, I finally got rid of it, and purchased this widetop from Walmart.com, and had it directly delivered to my home. One of the best purchases ever, and although it's more than I wanted to spend, it is well worth the price. Solid, stable, folds up easily, and the widetop is such a plus, with more room to iron. My Rowenta iron fits in the attached metal holder, and although I really don't need the metal shelf under the board, someone else may find it useful. The included cover and pad is o.k., but not that thick, so, I also purchased the Widetop Cover and Pad for Site to Store delivery. This is not your standard size ironing board, and the standard size cover wouldn't fit on this. But, this is exactly what I was looking for, am pleased with this product, and would recommend it.

We liked this ironing board but the rack on the underside should have a way to fasten it up when you are sitting ironing. It's in the way unless you stand and iron. Also it did not have a pad and ironing board cover with it and I paid $48.00 for the thing. Now I have to spend another $17 to get a pad and cover. Like it because it doesn't tip and has a place for the iron.
