Very nice looking and cheap on line

I have these in every room. It was very hard to get both screws in because of the way they are made. I had to leave one screw out. Also all the curtain will not stay in the loop because they cut the curve off too quick. But they are pretty and I also paid more in the store. Wish I had waited.

These are great for the price, in a previous review they mentioned they were made of plastic as far as we can tell these are made of metal. These are very nice and look great and very easy to install

    Simple but Elegant Hold Backs

    Customer review by Chellbelle1985

These were actually my first pair of hold backs that I have ever purchased and I have to say so far so good. I usually buy valances because of my dogs and have never needed tie backs before but I just bought new blackout curtains for my bedroom and still needed something to hold back the curtains for our cool summer Idaho nights and something that will be strong enough to withstand the winds we have here. I think I found them! The metal is hardy, does the job well and looks nice, not cheap and they match my metal bed. The curtains are heavy and I think these will still be able to hold them back easily, they were easy to put up and to assemble (not much there). For the price I couldn't be happier!

    • You want the knob to face away from the window so it can wrap around the pannel to hold the curtian back. Hope my description makes sense.

    • You install the tie backs so that the open end of the "U" shape is facing away from the window. This way, the hook actually holds the fabric back away from the window

    • The end with the ball has to go away from your curtains. It has an opened end. The opened end is where you will place your curtains.

    • you install them so that you can lay the cutain over it, so that the curtain will not fall back in front of the window. Hope that answers your question, not exactly sure what you mean

I have 6 blackout panels in my bedroom, as it's a large sliding glass door. Will these holdbacks hold 3 panels each or only strong enough for one?
    by sflalovetoshop 11/28/2010
    • They hold one blackout very well, it will be a real tight squeeze with two but not three. The arm is too short.

    • i see you wrote your question 3 years ago, so you have probably solved the problem. anyway, i know how thick blackout curtains are, and i don't think there's enough room to hold that much fabric. i used them for really lightweight curtain. i don't know if they'd be strong enough, but my guess would be that they would be.

    • I do not think they will hold. The curve is short - it is just right for our windows, but they are cotton, unlined, and a single panel, each. I definitely think you will need a hold-back that is larger, and has a full curve to hold three panels. Black out fabric is thicker, and don't think this hold-back would work - for even one panel.

    • Mine easily hold 2 heavy panels each. They are plenty strong if they are secured properly. Outside dimensions: 4 1/2" longest side and 4" deep, 3 1/2" knob side

    • Due to the size of the holdbacks and the fact that you are using blackout panels, I don't think they would hold back more than one each.

    • the brackets are strong enough to hold as many panels as you can put in them the only problem is the room for them they will hold 3 panels if the panels are not to thick of a material good luck

    • these are very sturdy I have one on each side and they hold one panel each but I am positive if you have multiple layers of curtains they would hold all of them
      by Norsegoddess4/2/2012
Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
    • I would guess no more than two. I have mine holding back just one pannel but there looks like there would be room to hold two panels w one of these holdbacks.

    • They really do not hold one curtain. Part of it comes out of the holdback. They do not come around far enough to hold all of one curtain.

    • They are strong enough, if you use anchors they come with, but not really large enough for 3 panels. I have 2 panels on each side and they barely fit.
