    AMAZING CAMERA!!!!!!!!!! THIS CAMERA WAS AMAZING! I bought it to go to Hawaii and it was awesome! I took pictures of everything from scenery and beach scenes, to hiking, in doors, and at night clubs. The features are extensive and extremely easy to use. Wide angle lense and HD videos all look AMAZING! I'm attatching 2 pictures that i took with this EXACT camera while in Hawaii so you can see how amazing it is. Battery life is also awesome, i went all around the island of Oahu and took almost 300 pictures and 12 minutes of HD video and I went home with 66% battery life. 05/25/2009
    Best Camera out there I got this camera as an early Christmas present for 09. I got it right after I returned a Sony Cybershot WD290 that was supposed to be the best one out there, and I had been highly disappointed with it. This camera the SD960IS absolutely blows the Sony out of the water. I waited this long to write my review because I wanted to be sure I covered everything. The reason this was my second choice to start with was I had read terrible things about battery life. When I got it I also got an extra battery. Turns out I havent needed it. I take literally hundreds of pics at a time of my niece and nephew. I charge the camera maybe once a week if that often, and it has never failed me. The other wonderful thing about this camera that the Sony couldn't touch is the active shake. My 2 yr old niece is always moving, and all the pics of her on the Sony were so blurred that you couldnt make her out. With the Canon camera I can shake it on purpose in my hand and the pics all come out crisp and clear anyway. This camera has a great auto set up for point and shoot, but it also has the ability to tweak your own settings. I like the kid pet mode of course. The video out put is HDMI and is just as good as a camcorder in my opinion. The out put cable comes with the camera, all you do is hook it up to the front of the HDTV and there you go.Also this camera is durable. I dropped it on a cement floor right after I got it, and I cried thinking it was already ruined. It didnt put a scratch on it, and everything has always worked fine. I'm relieved, because of the camera I have ever had this is the best one. I have had Sonys, Kodak, Olympus, and now Canon and I'm so happy. I will be carrying this camera a long long time.In the pic I'm posting it is of a wall in my home and I am literally shaking the camera and not gently. This is what you get. I held the camera from where I'm sitting shook my arm like crazy and took this picture.I highly recommend this camera for active subjects. 03/21/2010
    Nice Pictures Overall, I am little disappointed with the purchase but thought the quality would be alot better than my old 6mp Cannon camera. The camera takes beautiful pictures outdoors and the colors are outstanding. It takes alittle getting used to since they changed alot around. I previously had a SD600 which I also loved when pictures were taken outdoors. Indoors the pictures do come out alittle too dark, the flash could be better like the SD600. The 12mp files are little larger than a 6mp picture file and I thought it they would be alot greater. The HD movie clips are nice but alittle disappointing. The HD video files do not seem much better than the SD600 video files, actually maybe alittle out of focus. Also windows media player does not play the new mov video file type with sound. In 12mp mode, the date can be displayed on the camera and could not accomplished on the earlier SD600 version. They seemed to clear up alot of the red eye issues that they had with the SD600. The wider LCD 'does not' give you a bigger image viewing area than the SD600, it has menu info on the sides. Since it is 12mp and has face detection, the camera is alot quicker than I thoguht it would be and I am very happy with this feature since my kids are tough customers. It is about the same speed as my SD600 which was also very quick. Overall I am ok with the purchase so far but thought the enhancements would be alot better than my SD600 which they were not, other than alittle more zoom, mega pixel and the date feature. Knowing what I now know, I should have kept my old camera longer or gone with the SD780, 12mp which is about $50 cheaper. 06/24/2009
