Ink hog - don't use auto off

So the good: this printer makes great prints. The average: printing pages off the internet or for my kids reports etc, it's a little slow. Though does it really matter if it takes 2 minutes instead of 45 seconds? Probably not. It's somewhat loud and shaky but not unbearable. The bad: as many others have noted, it's a huge ink hog. It takes minutes running through cycles making noises, then prints the one stupid thing you wanted. Potential help: I have definitely noticed that I'm at least burning through LESS ink by just keeping it always on instead of using the auto off feature. So much for green. I'd rather save my own green :) Editorial: I think a lot of people having trouble with networking this printer may have other network issues. That's one thing I haven't had issues with. Though it did take a little monkeying with the setup to get it right. If keeping it on all the time cuts down the ink use, I'll keep it around, but wouldn't recommend it to someone else.

I was originally very excited with this purchase as I loved the AirPrint and Canon reputation. Before a month was up I had to replace the ink cartridges that came with it and printed few documents. I have already spent over $200 within 9 months on ink and printed / copied no more than 100 documents and some photographs. If I want a quick copy while running out the door, forget it. The cartridges travel back and forth and the machine creates other noises and if I am lucky might get the copy in 5 minutes. I do a lot of outdoor photography and love black and white which was originally why I purchased a Canon. The photos come out tinted red and not the pure black and white that I like. I have tried to figure this out without success. Since I have owned this machine the scanner has not worked. I called Canon a few times and each time they emailed me a link to fix it and each time I emailed back and said it would not work. I am very frustrated and planning on purchasing a different brand as I will save money alone on ink.

Bought it to replace an Epson R340 to print CD/DVD's. The Canon works much better for printing discs. The quality of prints are about the same but the CD/DVD caddy on the Canon is far superior. I selected the free shipping and it arrived in two days (west coast).

Almost every time I try to print, it says Printer offline or Printer busy. Drives us bat---- CRAZY! I hate this printer. Sure, it prints great WHEN it prints. Love the photos. Most of the time I have to restart it and feel lucky if THAT even works. Is it the wi-fi? I want to chuck this huge obelisk against the wall all the time. First of all it takes FOREVER to boot up. It's clunky and noisy in the process. As all ink jets, it eats cartridges like candy. And talk about bloatware, don't even think about installing the garbage. One good thing, it USUALLY lets you use non-Canon brand ink which saves a ton. It has a good gray scale - it better since it uses a gray cartridge. It has an extra slot for high volume black cartridge which is good. But the constant problems with the wif-fi connection is WAY WAY WAY too much to deal with the ever recommend this thing.

I purchsed two of these printers for different locations. They both perform identically, so there is little chance that one was a lemon. As with so many other reviews, this printer is SLOW to start. One can wait for minutes while it whirls and whines, churning away seemingly forever - unaware that the world around it is turning - just to print a single page. Published reviews indicating that the printer has a reasonable speed clearly used flawed metrics. For the average consumer the clock begins ticking when they hit the "Print" button - not when the first page loads in the hopper. Ink consumption is the absolute worst on both printers. It seems they can barely produce a handful of pages before calling for a new cartridge. The print quality is high without dispute. Canon would have done itself more justice marketing this as a pure photo printer than anything for general purpose ues.

Ihave had this for over a year. I purchased it to print on DVD and CD and some general office printing. The unit is very very slow to start when turning it on and while printing the first page of any project. Once it starts printing it does ok. The unit is larger than I woudl like, and troublesome to get the wireless function working properly. Also when printing onto DVD or CD you cannot get the file from your pc the unot asks you to insert the media card from your camera. This is a real time waster. Ink usage is a bit more than other models I have used in the past. The quality of the printing is outstanding for photos and on the printable DVD and CD media. The scanner works fantastic for all types of paper, cards, photos etc. The printer is just ok, Canon makes other models that are much better. But the choice is limited when wanting to print on DVD or CD media.

1.5-year-old MG6320 Printer has failed and needs replacement or repair/Canon Tech Support. Ink costs for this printer are extremely high, and 1 month ago went much higher yet when "OK" on view screen stopped working and I have to replace ink tanks still with 2 weeks ink in them in order to print further. Ink level warnings are set way to early and based on copies run, not actual sensing of ink levels. Nozzle Check pattern shows all tanks OK for some time after warnings. This unit has been cantankerous in many ways since new. Prior Canon did beautiful print (photos too), and lasted over 5 years. Since 1989, I've owned several other brand printers and none ever failed. I always replaced one because there was a new model with vastly improved quality or features. So, only Canon printers have actually quit working for me.

I've had the MG6320 for a couple of years. It is adequate for scanning, but for printing, it is one of the poorest examples of technology from a company I've respected for some time. I own Canon cameras, and expected the same innovation and excellence, sadly. The startup is extremely slow, and as very many reviewers have stated, the amount of ink used is simply unacceptable for any reason. While I believe that Canon makes very good products, this isn't one of them.

It prints well and fast and scans well. The problem is it uses the color ink to print in black. Even though I never print in color, the colored ink (half full) cartridges that came with unit ran out in 6 months. It also processes or "cleans" the heads after every print job which also uses up ink and if you wait a little before printing the next job and it starts its cleaning you have to wait until it is done before you can print. When it is out of one color it won't print even though your black ink is full. It also will not scan even though you don't use any color for scanning to a computer. When I replaced the one color that was out It "processed" and used up another color before I even got to print. It also showed one of the new colors I added as a quarter empty. Brand new!
