It is a high speed color scanner that provides good quality images. The Auto Scan Mode feature in this machine recognizes the document that is being scanned and adjusts the setting automatically. It offers a resolution of 4800 X 4800 dpi with 48 bit color depth and over 281 trillion colors for a high quality digital image. The 48 bit scanner also has auto document fix feature that offers area by area data correction and advanced image analysis so that you get easy to view scans from it. This ultra compact scanner has five EZ Buttons that enable you to scan, copy, email, or create a PDF faster than ever while you enjoy three scanning position to accommodate workspaces of any size. You can scan those bulky items as the Advanced Z-Lid extends up and over the platen to scan large items such as notebooks, textbooks and other thick documents.

Simple Scanner First off, I like anything Canon, and have severalitems like the above. So easy--just touch theauto scan tab on the rig, and away it goes doingits thing. Also extremely easy to install. Finepiece of equipment. 02/15/2011
aim higher This scanner at the over ninety dollar cost on Walmart is eighty-nine list retail. So much for the Walmart price guarantee as googling finds you a better price. But it quickly misaligned itself and definately needs time to warmup.Save up and buy a better unit. The HP at the same price point had little lines in the scan so it went right back. 11/20/2011
