One Fine Picture Taking Machine!

Put this camera on top of a $15 Targus monopod and you've got one fine picture taking machine! Right out of the box using smart auto, I got EXCELLENT pictures. Battery life is GREAT. Over a period of seven days I took 326 pictures on one battery charge. If you need extra batteries, Walmart.com has LENMAR NB-6L batteries for $11.88 each. They are good batteries at a good price. I would much rather carry two of these batteries in my pocket than eight AA batteries any day. The only negative thing I have to say about this camera is you cannot attach a nice camera strap to it, but don't let that keep you from buying this camera. This camera fits very nicely in the Ape Case AC-250, which is another great buy at Walmart.com for $17.90. I highly recommend this camera. IT'S A BUY! You will be glad you did.

I'm not a camera expert, but you don't have to be one to use this camera. I bought it because it was a cheaper alternative for the higher end cameras, but it has all the features I need and more. The macro (close-up) shooting is the awesome! I can have the camera practically touching an object, and it'll still focus perfectly. The 16x optical is great, and I like that it can go all the way up to 64x digital too. Of course the quality isn't as good at that high zoom, (it's still pretty good though) but I like to have the option anyway. It starts up really fast and zooms in really fast too; (1-16x in about 1 sec.) which is great for getting a quick picture of wildlife. It has a really easy interface with all the options I would want and then some. You can can have the camera do everything automatically, or if you want you can set the focus, iso, shutter speed, flash and many other things manually. the movie quality is great, but it does kinda eat up memory. The Battery life is good. I don't care for it personally, but it's pretty lightweight. The frame is kinda cheap and slippery though, so I keep the wrist strap on. Also it's not really good in low-light scenes. That's about all the negative things I can think of. I got it mainly to take wildlife pictures, and it's been perfect. I'm very happy with it. :)

I have owned several brands of point and shoot cameras (Kodak, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus) and this is the best out of them all. Very easy to use even without the user's manual and has features found in more expensive cameras. The screen is large, very clear and easy to see especially a partially sight impaired person like me. The image stabilization is a great help for shaky hands. You have face focusing and blink detection too. The camera takes gorgeous pics even on low resolution. I got over 400 pics before the battery needed charging. Buy a spare battery for a few bucks and you can snap away even on an extended vacation. Canon sells this camera in Black or red. I chose red because i like the snazzy look. Buy it, enjoy it. BTW, check to see what size memory card it supports. I have a 16gb Sandisk and it works perfectly.

I was happy when I received this camera because the price was right. But their is no SD card included and there was no power cord attachment for the computer to be able to download the pictures. I tried to buy it separately but they are not sold at Walmart. Very disappointing. I had to return the camera and pay a little more for one that had those items included.

Great so far!

Great camera so far! I got this camera to replace a Kodak camera I had that broke while I was on vacation and this camera takes much better pictures than that camera by far. It has the option to add the date stamp for people who are interested in that option like me. The flash is manual, you have to lift it up but its not hard or a problem at all for me to lift it up. the pictures come out clear and crisp. The zoom is great. I zoomed in all the way and took a picture and it still came out clear. The price was even better. I don't normally like to spend over $150 for a camera and this was just the right price. So far I am definetly satisfied. Also the battery needs to be removed from the camera to charge it, that can be a bit of a pain for some people but I don't really think its a deal breaker for me. Did not come with the cable for the computer, but my computer has a memory card slot so I just take the card out and put it in the computer to transfer the pictures.

Do i really need a memory card for it to save my pictures? This may be a stupid question, but i just want to make sure...

  • A. Yes, you'll need an SD memory card. Walmart carries various SDHC class 10 cards. You'll need an class 10 card to record HD video. I recommend at least 16 gigabytes as the minimum. 32 gigs if you shoot a lot without downloading the card in the short term.

  • A. The camera has an internal memory but a memory card is recommended since it increases dramatically the number of pics you can take. Look around on line and you cn find good cards for less than 10 bucks. Well worth the extra investment.

  • A. It has a slot for one and I would use it to back up all your photos, also you can put a SD card in a printer or other devices , it does not come with an USB cord to transfer photos to a computer, sold separately.
