    It's a dumbell you dumbell!

Highly functional and very durable cast iron dumbell. Great for home use and the prices are great for the smaller sizes but gets a little pricey for the heavier sizes (for a simple dumbell) but much better that buying a similar product at a specialty or fitness store. I bought the 10-15-20's to use for P90X and have gone back and picked up a pair of 25's and 30's as I progressed along in the program a few weeks later. As I get stronger I will just go and pick up a heavier pair. Would take some serious mishandling/abuse/neglect to mess these things up. Nice balance and finish. Nothing fancy but it is just a dumbell. The hex ends are useful to keep them from rolling around and can be used as simple pushup stands to give a bit more height and range of motion. Speaking of which, the description clearly say DUMBELL, (singular) not dumbell(s) plural. You must order 2 of each size. That's why there is a QUANTITY box! Bottom line, these are a good value and are great for people on a limited budget to start building a complete set their fitness needs.

Wonderful. they do exactly what they are supposed to. For me they are perfect. Be mindful that they do not come in a set. If you put quantity 1, you get 1 dumbell. I use them 5 times a week and i dont know what i would do without them. Wonderful product for the cost.

I've been looking high and low for a decent deal on dumbbells 55+ lbs and I finally found my source. Typically I hit up Craigslist for my home gym items, but once you get over 50lbs they're hard to find or they want too much for used dumbbells. I went with the 85 dumbbells because at the time they were actually cheaper than the 80 lbs dumbbells and the best over all price per pound. I had them shipping to the store and they arrived in about 3 days (free!). The packaging was great and the dumbbells were completely unscathed which can sometimes happen when shipping weights. I haven't weighed them to make sure they are 100% accurate, but they are definitely in the ballpark and who cares at this price? Would definitely purchase from Walmart again. As a side note, I have purchased many other CAP Barbell products including kettlebells and have not been disappointed despite the fact they are continually cheaper than their competitors. Great stuff for home gyms!

Is the price listed per dumbell or is it for a pair? For instance, I choose the 55lb option and the price is $63.25. Is that $63.25 for a pair of dumbells or for just one?

    • Each dumbbell is sold individually.

    • It is for just one. I purchased 55, 65, and 70 pound dumbbells recently and had to purchase 2 of each. Some are more than a dollar a pound and some are less than a dollar.

    • They are priced as singles. You need to order two to get a pair.

    • A general rule of thumb for buying weights from my searching is, cast iron is the cheapest. Ballpark price would be @ $1.00 a pound starting price from little 2-3 pound range and slightly cheaper the higher the weight goes. Then vinal coated would be slightly higher then the cast. Followed by neoprene coated alittle more then vinal. Then crome plated grips with rubber coated ends would be the top of the line. So the price I see from you would most likely be for "ONE" dumbell. Double that for a pair.
