At the current difficulty level, this unit will produce $8.00 per month in BTC. If difficulty doesn't rise (impossible) you will have to wait 37 months to break even. You probably will never get half your money back.

Bitcoin miners are used to generate Bitcoins. You will spend $299 on this item and receive less than $200 in Bitcoins over the next 2 years plus you will spend money on electricity to run it. In my opinion that is a very poor return on your investment and you should not do it. I bought 2 Butterfly Labs miners and their power supplies both burned up, BEWARE

  • A. Yes it will mine bitcoins but you may never break even in terms of income. Keep in mind that as more bitcoins are mined, the more difficult it is to produce more. If the difficulty of mining remained static (which it doesn't, it increases every time more bitcoins are mined), it would take about ~11111 days or 30 years to break even. Bitcoins will likely increase in value in the future, but it is unlikely that the coins you could create with this device would be worth the cost of these miners.

  • A. Yes you can use it to mine alt coins. But it has to be SHA-256 coins. So it will not mine scrypt. coinwarz.com has a profitability calculator for other SHA-256 coins.

  • A. Only SHA 256 coins. Most alts are script or x11 coins. Dont spend the money to buy this. Just buy coins if thats what you want.
