Bush Stanford Computer Desk, Antique Black and Cherry 82 91
Exceptionally nice desk... PROS:This is an exceptionally nice desk for the money. The desktop is very thick (and therefore very heavy), and I like the way the black antiqued sides are already "distressed" (which my children will only add to). The PC tower cabinet is plenty big for even a full sized tower case, and you can opt for minimal or complete cut-out of the back of the cabinet for cable access as well as ventilation as you see fit. The keyboard draw is huge -- you will not have the usual problem with putting a standard mousepad next to your keyboard, as there is plenty of space and elbow room for both a large keyboard and mouse area. The small storage draw is a nice touch, too, and I like the "foot rest" shelf where you can store books or just use it to prop your feet. Assembly was not difficult at all, but it did take me about 45 minutes and I'm quite handy. The item was also well-packed and protected in its box, so it would take a significant transport accident (like throwing it off the truck) to damage it during delivery.CONS:Only one: It's very heavy, so if you're picking it up at the store, you'll need help getting it out of your car when you're home. I'm a big guy, too, so this is really saying something.SUMMARY:I bought it for my kid's computer. If I had wanted a more compact computer desk for my home office, this would've even worked and looked great for me to use, and would've saved me over $800 on my current (admittedly very nice) solid wood desk. Great desk This desk looks wonderful. It takes a very long time to put together, but is well worth it. It is very solid and has great features. The keyborad shelf if great. The fact that you can hide the CPU and keyboard is awesome. This desk is more expensive from the manufacturer and other stores, so this is a great buy! Meets Expectations... I needed something for my office until I find the perfect desk - a better quality desk. This desk bridges the gap. Understanding, that this desk is not hardwood yet for its listed price I cannot ask for more. This desk has a sophisticated presence and looks better in my home than on the online image.I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a desk with similar specifications and budget. 05/13/2010
Consider carefully Pro-Assembles easily.I had a issue with parts missing and parts broken when received. Bush service was fast and friendly.Con-Very flimsy. Do not move after it is set where you want it. The only major side-to-side support is the cardboard back.Product is poorly make with inferior products.The product is a mix of MDF, pressed wood products and cardboard. They could have at least used wood for the legs. MDF is not strong enough for the legs and the top. My top is sagging.All of the "veneers" are pressed plastic very thin. The least bump or ding causes the veneer to peel away leaving a white mark on a black background.Drawer fronts do not match tower storage door. The tower storage door is squared-off and the drawer fronts are beveled.I would not have purchased this unit had I known in advance of the poor quality construction and construction materials. 01/12/2011
