Bush Stanford Audio Cabinet, Antique Black and Cherry 13 16
Hoping For More This is a decent looking piece of furniture, but I was hoping the quality would be a little better.The cabinet backing is not wood at all - it's simply a thin layer of paperboard/cardboard type material that has the "cherry finish" look to it. It doesn't do a very good job of making the cabinet as sturdy as it should be. The rest of the furniture looks to be made out of plywood with a thin veneer to give it a nice look. One of the side pieces had a corner that was chipped/mashed but it wasn't enough for me to send it back. In fact, it's hardly noticeable from where it's sitting in my living room.Assembly did take a while but I found the directions to be pretty straight forward. Although I did make a mistake and installed the fixed shelf upside down so that the black side is up. After the dowel pins and glue were already in place of course... I left it as is - still looks nice.One other note - each of the black pieces of the assembly have thin brown lines/streaks throughout... they looked like scratches at first and I wondered if the piece was damaged. As it turns out, that's what gives it the "antique" finish apparently. I was worried initially but it ended up looking quite nice. 05/23/2009
Nice cabinet for the cost. My daughter put the unit together in a few hours. Unfortunately we received the unit damaged in the box so we had to call Bush for the part which came quickly. The instructions would be better with some written directions instead of just pictures. I also wish the back had optional punch out holes as I had numerous wires to fit through the small hole provided. Overall the cabinet looks good and I think the cost of it was worth the money I spent. 11/06/2011
Worked Great for Us...Easy to assemble I'm glad I did not listen to reviews about how difficult it was to put together. This product litterally had the best directions I have ever seen from wood furniture. All of the parts were separated and properely labled and the directions walked through step by step on what to do referencing all of the proper parts.Very sold and works great. A slightly bigger gap on the door than I wanted, but no big deal. 02/04/2009
Looks excellent when together. Comes completely disassembled. Only complaint for the price it really should have a back that is wood with openings for the wires. The back is presently that heavy paper with punch out holes for your wiring. Overall though really like this product. 10/14/2010
