Rated 2 out of 5 by gabrielaidania a very bad product
I bought this balm because it has some sun protection. However, after application my lips feel like if I had an ugly paste, plus leaves a white film on the lips that actually dries even more the lips.
Rated 1 out of 5 by herxin didn't like the smell
I was excited to try this but didn't like the smell, it gave me a headache and sadly I will not be using it.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mark1234 Smells amazing!!!!
This is a great lip balm! I love how it feels and smells! And I feel the sun protection working! My lips are hydrated and they feel good!

I purchased this b4 reading any reviews and after reading reviews it confirmed my own opinion that this product is awful.Too waxy, made my lips white -ish,actually Irritated !my lips, like a burning, dryed out effect. Terrible product.
Rated 2 out of 5 by FairSkinnedOne Dry, crumbly, and white
Compared to honey & pomegranate balm, this balm with SPF is remarkably non-moisturizing and quickly dries on lips to a chalky, whitish residue. I've tried applying more and less, and never could find a happy medium. Also, within a short time period, the stick of balm became too dry to even apply to my lips without crumbling on the spot...I had to throw it away. I think I'll go back to applying skin lotions/creams with SPF to my lips under a coat of regular or pomegranate (LOVE!!) balm.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Jami Too thick for my lips
I'm not a big fan of the consistency of this one. I find that it doesn't sink in to my skin very well so I don't benefit from moisturizing. It's okay and I will finish the stick that I bought but I have had better lip balms. I like ones that feel more like lotion. It also feels a little stickier than most balms because of its consistency.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Camy Zinka for the lips!
Didn't know this stuff would turn my lips white. Didn't notice for quite some time. Immediately stopped using and threw it in the nightstand. It may come out again to be used only at night! It also didn't go on as smoothly as regular Burt's.

Dislike! It's too thick for my taste and I hate the way it feels. Like the review title says, I wish I could get a refund! So disappointed in this product especially when I've liked almost everything else.
Rated 5 out of 5 by amuhlou Love this!
I purchased this for vacation and was pleasantly surprised by the hint of passion fruit. I feel like my lips are well protected. It does tend to lighten your lips like a sunscreen might, but you can use it as a base and apply a tinted balm or lip stain over top.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Shabbyv4 Decent SPF Balm
This SPF balm has a smoother application than the ResQ balm. The smell is sweet, the protection is pretty good and lasts a decent amount of time, though SPF 8 is pretty low. It moisturizes fairly well but I usually put on Burt's Mango balm before I put this balm on, but in general this is a good product especially in summer.
Rated 3 out of 5 by JBell White Residue, Hard to Apply
When I first started using this lip balm tube, it was almost impossible to apply. It just left chunks of white on my lips. I tried scraping off the top, which seemed to help a little. It took about a week, but the lip balm seems to be getting softer. It still leaves a white residue on my lips, but now it looks more like I have a light silver or frost pink lip color on. I'm not sure I'll buy this again; too much work if I have to wait an entire week for it to start working for me.

I bought this for the sun protection - it feels gritty and not smooth or soothing... also seems to put a coat of white on my lips - definitely not what i was looking for. I'm returning it to where purchased and will get somthing else instead. Not worth the money spent.
Rated 5 out of 5 by deanndroid Great
Love it! The scent is great, I just wish the SPF was higher.
Rated 2 out of 5 by embersmama Disappointed
This was the worst Burt's Bees product I have purchased. The stick was gritty and hard, and not did not glide easily on my lips. And as others have mentioned, it makes your lips look dull and pale.
Rated 5 out of 5 by tracieb Glad for Burt's Bees with spf
I'm glad for Burt's Bees having sun protection in a lip balm. This one I use year round.
Rated 5 out of 5 by BeeMember Great Protection... Not so great appereance
LOVE LOVE LOVE how this lip balm protects you lips and keeps them moisturized! The only thing is that when you rub it on. It comes off white color. But very good protection!
Rated 5 out of 5 by UniPuma22 Good Stuff
I've used this for months now and I have to say it works wonderfully for chapped, wind damaged lips. It glides on smoothly, smells fruity, and has a good application life.
Rated 3 out of 5 by PinkPeonies Acceptable But Nothing to Write Home About
This lip balm does its job of moisturizing, but not as well as other products I use. I've def used worse lip balms before as well, so a 3-star rating seems right. Its one positive is its scent, which my husband really likes. Its big con, though, is that it makes your lips appear paler and dull.
Rated 4 out of 5 by GoGreen18 Great buy
I'm a lifeguard and this lip balm is the perfect alternative to the stark white effect you'd get from using 'Burt's Bees Lifeguards Choice' lip balm. It smells great and protects my lips while keeping them moist. It will turn your lips a little pink though, so keep that in mind
Rated 3 out of 5 by tropicalaqua Not as great as I thought
For someone who loves the rest of the bb lip balms line & own all of them (except for the honey one since it has a weird odor to it).
I thought I would fall in love with this balm, although it smells good, when you apply it, it isn't smooth, and I felt like it was a bit grimy and rough.
When I applied it I had to put extra effort in applying & if I applied too much it left a white residue in which didn't help as much in me liking this lip balm, it also didnt leave my lips moisturized.
Although paired with the other BB balms under & this applied on the top it works well, though, I do not think I will be re-purchasing.
If you compare this to the lifeguards choice bb balm it doesnt leave your lips like you applied white lipstick. Though the sun protection for this balm compared to the lifeguard one isn't as much.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ronda use it all the time.
living in florida this is a must. love this lip balm.
Rated 5 out of 5 by WaterRat Saving Face!
I used this for the first time when visiting London, England last month. With unusually sunny weather for 10 days (thanks to the volcano?), this lip balm saved not only my lips but my face as well (as an emergency face sunscreen). The smell took some getting use to, but now I actually Like it. I didn't notice any White Effect. Being allergic to ALL chemical sunscreens, this is a god-send. I spend my summers on the water or in the garden and winters in the snow - this will never be out of my pocket!
Rated 2 out of 5 by xoxosharon Not impressed.
At first glance, this lip balm looks pretty cool. Once I started to use it, however, I didn't enjoy the application or the white film it leaves on your lips. It makes my lips look white. I won't be repurchasing.
Rated 3 out of 5 by mamasmith Not fond of the texture
Not a big fan of this lip balm. It is hard to apply (very dry) and tends to leave a white/silvery residue on your lips.
Rated 3 out of 5 by andyelloww Almost great, but...
Doesn't moisturize nearly as good as other Burt's Bees lip balms, is hard to apply (the product itself is very hard), and actually makes my lips a little dry. And frankly, the smell givesme a headache. Still far better than any other brand lip balm though, so I'll definitely keep purchasing it.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Margot Only Chapstick To Use
I can't say I have a preference for any of the Burt's Bees chapsticks, but I usually purchase this one for the added sun protection. I don't find it to be thicker, it replenishes and heals my lips, and protects them from the sun! I even put it on a patch of dry skin on the back of my hand for temporary instant relief, and it worked like a miracle. And when I can't find it and use a different brand- by the middle of the day I have put on the other brand over three times! Highly recommended.
Rated 4 out of 5 by sugarlust fantastic product, but with a few drawbacks
i really love this lip balm. it's moisturizing, leaves lips nice and smooth, the scent is divine, and the SPF is perfect for people who enjoy the outdoors and the sunny weather. my one concern though is when applying it to my lips, it's a bit hard, like i have to apply with a heavier hand than other Burt's Bees balms. it also leaves a bit of a white residue behind, like my lips look a little whiter/duller after each use. the pros outweigh the cons though, it really is a great product. i would most certainly recommend to friends.
Rated 4 out of 5 by AnonymousGirl Nice scent
I love Burt's lip products and was eager to give this a try since I spend lots of time outside and need SPF. The scent was great, but the thick consistency makes it hard to apply. I also wish that the SPF was at least the recommended 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by surfprn Great for surfers!!
I'm a surfer and I have spent hundreds of dollars over the years trying to protect my lips from the sun. The best before this was zinc oxide, but it turns my lips white or whatever other color they put in it. Now I use this. It protects well enough and I really love the smell and the consistency. It feels great on my lips and the nice smell floats around for a long time. I'm a convert. I just wish that it were a little cheaper.

I tried this because I didn't feeling like mint that day - it's really nice. I will buy again!
