    Customer Product Reviews

    Rated 4.7 out of 5★ by 9reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5★ by I was pleasantly satisfied. I have fun youthful memories of homemade ice cream, we turned by hand.Much older now, I want to make ice cream but don't want to spend an hour on the hand crank. This product came with both a hand crank & an electric motor crank. The directions state that after the electric motor will shut its self down (safety switch) and the ice cream is in a "soft serve" state. If you want thicker ice cream to take over with the hand crank. So, I was a little concerned but ordered it to try. However, I am happy to review that this ice cream maker works better than expected. After 30-45 min. and the electric motor starts to slow/stop the ice cream is frozen/thick enough that I can't turn it further by hand. It is in an excellent firm soft serve state ready to eat and any put in the freezer is perfect for later. 12/14/2011
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Works well, motor and hand crank sold it for us we have kids who like to hand crank, it works well and is geared such that they really like using it. my wife and I prefer the electric option, again, works well. Haven't used it long enough to assess durability, but initial impression is this is a well built product. 01/06/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great Product I bought this from Wal-Mart because it was cheaper than another retailer where I found it. The appearance is great, old-time (with the wooden bucket), and functional. It makes delicious ice cream and works with a large variety of recipes. As a quick suggestion, soak the bucket in water before making ice cream the first time. This makes the wooden bucket seal better and there won't be as much water dripping out as the ice melts. The plastic around the motor seems kind of cheap but I haven't had any problem with it breaking or anything.Little kids especially seem to enjoy using the manual handle to spin the canister to make the ice cream at least for the first part, and then you can switch to the electric motor, which automatically stops when the ice cream gets to just the right consistency/thickness! This is the best ice cream maker I have used, even more enjoyable than ice cream makers that have their own cooling systems. I might be biased because it reminds me of making ice cream when I was a kid with a similar ice cream maker. Nonetheless, this is a great ice cream maker. 02/03/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by I just used it one time but it seems to be great. Beautiful unit. 02/17/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by We really like the ability to make any amount of ice cream, whether a small or large batch. The canister is really deep and it can get a little messy getting the ice cream out. But definitely worth it. It is also nice to have the hand crank option, so it could be brought where there is no electricity, and everyone can help with creating a treat. 05/13/2013
