I bought this because of a coffee maker at work hadn't been cleaned out in ages and was making bad tasting coffee. I followed the mixing directions except I turned off the machine halfway thru to let the solution soak for about half an hour. Then turned it back on and let it finish the cycle. The second rinse flushed out all the white calcium buildup flakes and it was disgusting to know we were drinking out of that machine! Coffee now tastes much better and the machine brews a lot quicker! Everyone needs to buy this product to keep their coffee tasty!

For the first 70 years of my life I drank coffee for caffeine. One cup.. add the milk, and go like a hungry coyote. Take a brand new coffee machine and run this stuff through it, and it will taste better. Take you home coffee machine and run it through it, and it will taste a LOT better. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Do it twice, and the first time, stop the process about half way through, and let it set for a half hour.. then finish it. DO IT AGAIN.. half way, stop it for a bit and then finish it off. AT THAT POINT... clean the dickens out of the coffee pot, the thing you put the grounds in, the water reservoir and the nozzle that puts the water on the coffee. Coffee really tastes good without the old and bitter stuff on the heating element. I drank to much, and wound up needing decaf, but even the decaf tasted good. You wind up with a coffee you savor rather than slug down.

This is a great product. My aluminum coffee pot was terribly stained and this took it all off in one soaking. It is easy to use; simple to prepare and takes a minute to get it ready. Then you go away and come back to a clean coffee pot. The cost is low; the results are great. Make coleslaw with the vinegar, use this instead to clean the pot and get the good coffee taste back.

    • About 1/3 of the bottle as far as I can guess. Not measured, just an unofficial look.

    • measure the actual ounces of water in a full reservoir for your pot (in a measuring cup). Divide your answer by 32 (4 cups). That answer times 1 tablespoon. On my pot, the 12 serving indicator meant nothing. My 12 serving reservoir actually only held 57 ounces of water = 1.78 (divided by 32 ounces or 4 cups), so I used 1 3/4 tablespoons of product. Worked just fine.

    • Use three light table spoons on the first clean, and then two light table spoons on the second cleaning. When you finish with the cleaning, make sure you use a soft sort of brush, and clean the pot you used to do the solution, the coffee basket, those nozzles that spray the water on the coffee. THEN.. run two clear water pots through. It really makes a difference.

    • It depends, I first cleaned my coffee maker with 12 cups of water and 3 tablespoons of cleaner. I would say I should be able to clean 6 more pots using the 12 cup cleaning procedure.

We cleaned our Bunn coffee maker at work with Brew Rite. Ran water through like suggested. The next morning we ran another pot to make sure and the water was cloudy, white. Any suggestions on why? Thank you!

    • I have no idea. I do one cycle or brew with cleaning powder mixed in water and let it sit 30 min...then after pouring and rinsing my dumping reservoir, I run 4 more with JUST water and don't leave those to sit at all... I have never had a problem.. BUT, YOU MUST ADD POWDER TO COLD WATER.. (4 CUPS) AND MIX IT WELL BEFORE YOU PUT IN MACHINE. THEN TOP THAT OFF WITH JUST MORE WATER....DON'T PUT POWDER DIRECTLY IN YOUR MACHINE WITHOUT MIXING IN WATER FIRST! GRANULES SHOULD BE DESOLVED IN WATER BEFORE POURNG in your COFFEE MACHINE!

    • There are deposits on your heating element. Run the brew-right twice, and then clean the pot, the basket you put the coffee in, the nozzle that sprays the water on the coffee, and the water reservoir. Use a soft brush and use a good soap. THEN.. run two pots of water through to get all the residue out. It takes a little time, but even a brand new coffee maker will do much better if you use Brew-right on it. NO.. I don't work for them, but the difference is super. Do it again.. clean the pot and run two clear water pot through.
