I have used the thermometer in the oven (meat loaf) and a charcoal smoker. The wire is rated to 412 F. No damage to wire so far. Can set timer for temp. or for time. Very handy. 03/08/2009
Worked Great I ordered this thermometer because I was making Prime Rib for Christmas and all the recipes say cook to temperature not time. I've olny used it once, but it worked great and the Prime Rib came out perfect. I loved that you just left it in the meat and didn't have to poke the meat and wait for the temp to register a dozen times. I hated to spend almost $30 for a thermometer, but when you look at the cost of ruining an expensive cut of meat it makes it more bearable. I'd recommend this product. 12/27/2008
