    Rated 5 out of 5★ by Outstanding smoker for some applications Bradley digital smokers take almost all of the guesswork out of smoking. The smokers lend themselves to poultry, fish and lean meats in an outstanding way. Fattier cuts of meat such as large briskets or pork butts can be tricky as the amount of fat they contain makes cleanup messier. The only thing I would change about the design of the smoker would be to make the water/drip pan larger and perhaps put the unit on rolling casters with a wheel lock.In the older model (the original, not the digital one), the unit is prone to breakage of the lower plastic base of the unit around the lower door hinge and the sliding temp. control. The digital unit eliminates the slider and improves overall design. Adding casters might help as users would not be so tempted to tip the unit forward while moving it (tilting causes the plastic portion of the front base to break).The fact that this unit can operate as a sealed smoker (electric burner needs no O2 to operate!) means that you can smoke foods with the vent closed and avoid losing the moisture in them - no more dried out shoe leather meats!Bradley now sells a cold smoker attachment which enables the user to cold smoke fish, cheeses, etc., at outdoor temperatures below the mid '90's, if you can believe it! Follow FDA meat curing guidelines when smoking or cooking food at temps below 180F!A variety of hardwood biscuits encourages you to avoid the old "mesquite, oak or hickory?" choices and try something new (apple? cherry? maple? alder?...the list goes on). Overall and as a first relatively trouble-free smoker for most people, the Bradley Digital Smoker is an outstanding choice and I recommend it highly. 02/22/2009

This is actually the second one I purchased; the first one was defective out of the box, but Walmart gave me a refund and I ordered a replacement. I've used it several times and it works like a champ. I have a large charcoal/wood burning smoker, but the Bradley Smoker is so easy to use, I'll probably never use the other one again. 07/19/2009
    Rated 5 out of 5★ by Smoking Perfection After many months of seeking a digital smoker, I finally found the Bradley Smoker. So far I have smoked sausage, ribs, brisket and salmon and have not been disappointed. The instructions are easy to follow and the food has come out near perfect. I love the fact that I can set the temperature and timer and forget about it until it is time to remove the food. I look forward to expanding my smoking horizons to not only meat but things like vegetables and what ever else I can find to smoke. I like the idea that I can use the wood bisquits and can expeirimate by stacking different blends in the smoke generator to bring out different flavors. 09/21/2008
    Rated 1 out of 5★ by A cheaply made product The smoker started to fall apart only after a few months of use. The parts that broke first were trim related, but the unit was still usable. Then, in the middle of one of my cooking sessions, I opened the door to the unit and the entire door fell off, the top hinge breaking through the plastic housing. What a huge letdown! I was so excited about this product and was willing to live with the minor trim issues, but after the door fell off my use of the unit was crippled. Given the higher price of the unit compared to competitive products, I thought that I was buying a superior product. My experience with this smoker leads me to believe that I can do better than this. I'm now looking at competitive products to replace this unit. 03/02/2014

    Rated 5 out of 5★ by First Smoker This is my first smoker. After a lot of research I decided on the Digital Bradley Smoker (DBS). I have been very happy with my decision.The DBS is very well constructed and easy to use. I like the fact that it holds alot of meat but has a fairly small footprint. It takes up very little room on my deck since it is a vertical smoker.After having used the smoker, I would recommend a couple of things. First, always pre-heat the smoker before using. Otherwise you'll need to plan on additional cooking time as it will take a while for the unit to reach your planned oven temp. I imagine this is the same with any smoker. Open the door and you lose heat. I also recommend pre-heating at a higher temperature than what you plan on smoking at. When you open the door to put the meat inside, the temperature will drop. If you've pre-heated higher than the planned smoking temp, you will have allowed for the heat loss. Once the meat is inside, close the door and readjust the oven temperature to what you want it to be.This a a great smoker. It's the only one I've used so I don't have a lot ot compare it to. But I've seen feedback from a lot of DBS owners. I haven't heard one complain yet! 06/25/2009
