Book Information

The following content was provided by the publisher.
Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.
She has seen both these dreams come true.
At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon -- from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.
Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.
("Includes Special, Never-Before-Solicited Opinions on Breastfeeding, Princesses, Photoshop, the Electoral Process, and Italian Rum Cake )"

Reviews

Review by Library Journal (2012-01-01)

Fey has been on a roll since parodying Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live (SNL). Her narration adds to her life story, which tracks her childhood, college, and improve days as well as her stints in the writers' rooms at SNL and 30 Rock. She reveals herself to be somewhat uncomfortable with fame and her public personae. A PDF of photos is included, so the audiobook is as complete as the print-sweet! (An LJ Best Book of 2011.)

Review by Library Journal (2011-12-01)

Besides covering her childhood, comedy apprenticeship at Second City, writing for and performing on Saturday Night Live, and producing and starring in 30 Rock, the brilliantly funny and smart Fey offers sage career advice for women trying to make it in a male-dominated workplace: "No pigtails, no tube tops. Cry sparingly". (LJ 4/1/11)

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5★ by 6reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Funny easy read Overall this book was funny. Not as funny as I was expecting but it was a good easy read. It really makes Tina Fey seem like she understands what it is like to normal person growing up in America, outside of her now being a celebrity. Also, great price. 08/02/2011

Rated 5 out of 5★ by AMAZING. If you buy this book, don't read it while you're laying in bed with your significant other because you will keep them up with your constant laughter. :) This book was incredible. I have been recommending it to tons of people and sharing some of my favorite parts with my friends and family. You'll crave more after you're finished with it. 05/04/2011
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Funny book for an SNL fan. Funny book and my mom got it before Christmas with no extra cost! We saved tons more than we would have with other "book sellers" both in stores and online. 01/08/2012
