Rated 5 out of 5★áby pookiedoo2122 A tasty meal I think both of the Blue Runner beans are amazing. I brown a little sausage and add to the red beans and have a southern dinner ready in minutes. amazing product. Love! 07/14/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★áby Andouille Love Them Beans! We bought them at Wal-Mart in Gulfport and online from the company. They are excellent, and are used to make Red Beans and Rice by a wonderful Cajun restaurant here in the Chicago area. We sure wish they were carried in the Chicago area! Both the Creole and New Orleans style red beans are a staple of our family kitchen, and we don't want to run out! 11/17/2008
Rated 5 out of 5★áby lovesomecajun loved this! My daughter suggested these beans which were given high marks by her friends. They are great when mixed with our local brand smoked sausage..However I have found that not all Walmarts carry them even though I live in Louisiana and they are called New Orleans style beans. It would be nice to have more local and regional brand foods available for purchase. They would sell great just by recommendation. help us out here, wally world!! 05/21/2011
Rated 1 out of 5★áby NewOrleansNative Very Disappointing I was born and raised in New Orleans and my family still lives there. I grew up eating red beans & rice in DAY CARE, every day, and my mother and other relatives served it on occasion as well.My wife makes it now, as do I... usually from scratch (soaking beans overnight -- typically Camellia brand). Whenever I'm in the French Quarter, I frequently order red beans & rice in restaurants like the Gumbo Shop.I recently saw a 27 oz. can of "Blue Runner Creole Cream Style Red Beans" in the store here in Virginia. I thought the price ($3+) was high for what is essentially seasoned kidney beans, but I purchased it out of curiosity.Tonight I heated up the can of beans and served them over rice with andouille sausage. To my considerable disappointment, the Blue Runner Red Beans were quite BLAND... tasted very much like standard pork and beans! If it weren't for the andouille sausage, the entire meal would have been a bust.I'm baffled as to why other reviewers here rated this product so highly. I can't imagine anyone "loving" this product or thinking it tastes anything like the red beans & rice served in Louisiana. If you insist on purchasing this product, I recommend seasoning it liberally. 02/17/2012
