These are the best of all brands I have tried and the best priced. I have a small dog that can't hold it in all day while gone so these are perfect and they can go on them several times because they absorb quickly and urine stays in one spot. These don't leak like other pads I have tried either. My store doesn't carry these anymore so I order online and have them shipped to store. I wish Walmart would makeup its mind about price, sometimes $18 and other times $23 for the same qty.

I had been using the "Out" brand training pads since adopting my little rescue Maltese, Maisy--with some success (she would use it about 75% of the time)...but with the Blue Ribbon brand of pad (which has a scent that attracts dogs to use it)...Maisy has an over 95% "success rate"...sometimes right, smack dab in the middle of the pad! I'm VERY pleased with the effectiveness and quality of the Blue Ribbon training pads!

When I first bought the Blue Ribbon pads they arrived in the packaging that's pictured in this ad. They worked just as the labeling said. Absorbed, no leaks, odor control. What a great price for so many pads. I bought the 200 package. I'm writing this review to forewarn anyone who's thinking of trying the 100 count first. DON'T do it! Shortly after I started buying the 200 count, the next re-order arrived with the pads in clear plastic wraps. None of the fancy Blue Ribbon packaging you see in the ad. No problem, they worked fine that first time. Gradually every re-order has resulted in a poorer and poorer quality product. Sometimes the color of the plastic (that backs the padding) was a different color. White or tan. Now, the last order I received is indeed the last order I'll ever make for this brand. They leak! And it doesn't take that much fluid to make that happen. And there is NO odor control. Gad's the smell of dog tinkle to awaken to when you think these pads are working overnight is enough to make you gag. It certainly makes the nose burn! I think this manufacturer is Walmart. Or someone they're hiring. They've lost the quality they started out with and it's degraded in a period of a year to what is no better than would be a newspaper on your floor. Great price for the 200 count. But you're not going to get your money's worth when your floor is soaked!

Urine Leaks Through Sides & Pad Sticks to Floor
    4/29/2011

    Customer review by MarlsMommy

I am very disappointed with this product for a few of reasons. First, the pads do nothing to mask the odor of urine. Second, when my dog potties near the edge, the urine leaks through the side and onto the floor. Finally, when urine leaks through the side like this, the plastic edge really sticks to the floor. I tried to unstick the pad from the floor and the pad tore, leaving a stuck-on strip of urine covered plastic that I had to scrub to get off the floor. I think maybe they use an adhesive to help keep the pads folded for packaging?? I recommended spending a bit more money to buy quilted pads. I certainly will be doing so in the future. By the way, I bought this pads on sale for under $20.

My older cat is peeing outside his litter box. Would the scent in these attract or repel a cat??
    by lindy 9/7/2014
    6 answers
    • A. The reason your cat pees outside the box is because you do not clean his box often. Cats like to have clean litter. These pads are not for cats so don't count on him going into pads if he is trained to be in letter box. Clean his box every day, give him nice litter, use clumping kind so the urine gets absorbed into a clump and the feces get coated so no smell. You will see how he will continue to go into the box rather than outside of it. Tidy cat is a good one to use, no dust and clumps well.

    • A. I do not smell anything on this product. They may put something on it to attract dogs, but you would need to contact the manufacturer to ask about that.

    • A. There is no scent. I think that this would be a good solution. After my dog uses the pad, my cat starts scratching at it like in the litter box. He kind of bundles it up so I can pick it up and throw it away.

    • A. We have these in use at our house of five dogs and one cat. The cat seems to be neither attracted or repelled by the pads.

    • A. The pads are unscented and a generous 21"X 23". Your cat will not be repelled by scent, and they are large enough not to require accuracy.

    • A. Yes, the ones under the name brand packaging for wal-mart in the stores, the inside absorbent lining doesn't slide or bunch up. The generic packaged no name pack from the web site, the absorbent lining slides and bunches up. They still seam to absorb the same, but you have to unfold them by hand, don't unfold them and shake them or snap like you would a towel. This may be a quality issue with the manufacture. As I am a Quality Control inspector and would not pass them on my shift for this reason. This may be a production run issue and may not happen on the next run. I WILL BE CHECKING MY NEXT BAG!!! They are still the best pad that wal-mart sells. I am checking and watching... Quality sells, vendors beware, wal-mart is a BIG,BIG, account you will lose them!! Buy the way this is for the Blue Ribbon Deluxe House training pads, not the crate pads as i have no problem with the crate pads except that they are not in the store.

    • A. They are the same pad, but smaller. I have a large beagle and she has no problem using the smaller pad. The pad is a square not a rectangle, but a dog that is train to pads will not mind the difference.
