Ive only had the drill now for about a week but after using it for a few hours, i feel i should give my first impressions review. Im using it to screw in very large decking screws that i could not do by hand. Its powerful motor is excellent and I'm very pleased at its trigger control. You can adjust the speed easily just by controlling how hard you pull the trigger. Another common issue with many drills is the bit grip not being able to grip the bit well or the bit grip stripping. This drill does grip the bit well without the use of a key and i have not had any stripping with the bit provided. It has a turn lock thats easy to use and quick to change bits. I have not used round bits yet so I'm not sure how the bit grip works with them. The bit grip is rather large so if your drilling in say a hook then the bit grip will hit the hook and not allow you to put the screws all the way in so you need an extension bit to get the screw the rest of the way in. So on first impression i would suggest to get this one especially if it lasts as long as other people say it will. For driving in screws this drill is great. As for other tasks I'm not sure yet but i think this is a great starting drill.

If you looking for a well made drill to use on most DIY projects around home, this is it. It's powerful enough for most projects around home with out being too bulky. The keyless chuck makes changing bits quick and easy. The only drawback is the variable speed doesn't have an adjustable stop feature so it requires a light touch on the trigger to control the speed, which takes some practice to master. This drill is made for light - medium duty jobs so don't expect it to perform well on a job requiring a heavy duty drill. I bought this drill to replace an old Black and Decker drill which was very similar to this one that had lasted many years before giving up the ghost.

Fabulous Drill

Great for the casual do-it-yourselfer. The drill is compact yet powerful enough for all your projects around the house. So much better than battery operated ones because of the continous power band at all speeds. The only minor knock is that the cord is short and Walmart's price is the same as the manufacturer's price. It is usually cheaper at Walmart but not on this product.

I am using this drill for nothing but boring holes with a Step Drill Bit. While this Drill has all the Bells and Whistles of a Retail Drill. It's Obvious to me that when I put in my hand the First Time, This Drill is built to withstand Construction use............ For the Price I paid for this Drill, I can't imagine buying a Better Drill for Less............

Bought this to screw together cedar boards for raised beds. It worked great and now will be used to put on new cabinet hardware. It isn't the fanciest drill on earth, but for this price it is a bargain!

  • A. As long as those bits and heads are less than 3/8 inch diameter you'll be able to use them. That is WHY this is called a 3/8ths inch drill.

  • A. Drill bits and screwdriving bits can be used with the DR260B 5.2 Amp 3/8" Drill/Driver. Round shank drill bits, ranging in size of up to 3/8” diameter, can be used for drilling in to wood, plastic, and metal. Screwdriving bits, offered in various lengths and bit tip styles, can be used for inserting screws. A magnetic bit tip holder can also be used if a shorter screwbit is used, like a 1” length.

  • A. Yes most standard screw driver tips & bits will work with this drill as long as the shank doesn't exceed 3/8 inch.

  • A. Yes, unless you have some with really weird shaped shafts. Round or triangular shaped should work just fine. Just make sure they are squarely seated in the chuck.

  • A. If your bits fit a key-less chuck then it would fit in this drill.
