Yes, on the double burner you can use the right or left one at a time.

Yes, each burner has a separate adjustment, so you could use one at a time.

It should get hot enough, but I would not have anything else cooking on the other side at the same time.

Yes it can fry both of them. I let the grease heat up well before adding the food and it cooks them to perfection. When frying chicken, it does cook a little slower than usual however it definitely gets the job done.

i tried this thing once and i was remarkably surprised how fast it heated up and boiled water. Faster than a normal stove. You cannot beat this item for the money. i am rebuilding a home and have no stove and cant afford to do anything right now and this little portable cooker is going to be a life saver! Thumbs up for this little burner!!

What wasn't mentioned in the specifications, is that one burner is 500 watts and the other 1000 watts, totaling 1500 watts. Both sides boiled water easily and yet also were able to keep my soup just simmering. I liked the fact that it is black and doesn't need constant cleaning to look nice. It is lightweight and has a sleek design, but mostly I like the way it cooks. Thank you for a good product!

This works GREAT! It should have an oven underneath it. You can cook ANYTHING on this. Left burner is 1000 watts and right is 500 watts let's you control food PERFECT! I LOVE it!

Hello Everyone! This black decker is very reliable. I absolutely love this portable burner. The watts on it is 1500. And its great to use. I have cooked just about everything on it. I use the burners quite often and the ship to store was here in no time. So for those of you thats iffy about purchasing it, you should definitely buy it. Its great. Well i hope this helps.

Great product

Generally this unit heats up fairly well and it can boil water, but I am very disappointed that there is no on/off switch for each burner. It seems you just turn the dial to the very first setting, but I think it still draws electricity, so you must unplug it......Also, very hard to keep the burner plates clean if you have a spill.

I ordered this because I live so far out in the country its easier to order from online sometimes. I got this to find that it was damaged by shipping. The people at Walmart shipped it in a plastic bubble envelope. So when the Fed Ex guy gave it to me it was damaged. It was dented and bent in the middle. I would return it but the burner part works like a charm and I need it for cooking I have no choice. to bad a error in the walmart shipping department made this less than I hoped. while the appearance of this looks like I got it from the ally it works fine for cooking.

Really disapointed..........

A really nice burner but it does not stay on continuously. The temp is regulated by how long the burner stays on, not intensity of heat in the element. In the hottest setting it turns on for a little than it turns off for a little, on 10 seconds, off for 5- roughly. Took almost 3 hours to boil water (large pot for crab legs, 2+ gal) because the darn thing would not stay on. When I turn the thing all the way up, I expect it to be red until I turn the darn thing down!!! It can handle the weight of a large pot of water just fine.

I bought this for my canner because I couldn't use the canner on a glass top stove. This does not get hot enough. With a regular tea kettle, it still took 45 min to boil. Back it goes.
