Rated 1 out of 5 by Gayle1 Not Dependable I purchased this toaster oven last year to replace a Toastmaster that had died after 15 years of daily use. I have had multiple problems with this toaster oven. The timer/toast dial is difficult to set for toast. The space for setting the darkness of toast is very short and impossible to set the correct darkness. The dial sometimes does not move while it is turned on, or if it does, it does not turn off. I have had toast to catch on fire because it did not turn off. I have to stay close to watch the toaster and my food. After months of daily use, it now seldom dings when the oven turns off or if I turn it off manually. The location of the dial when it turns off has moved from the original spot. When using the baking setting, the bottom of the food browns, but not the top. I have to change the setting to broil for a minute or two for the top to brown. 02/10/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by lynn2boy Best Black & Decker Oven My husband and I always end up with Black & Decker toaster ovens because they're usually the most affordable. We replaced our last Black & Decker with THIS bigger one. And we love this one more than the last. I don't know about all the toast complaints that I've read about it. These people should know that you have to watch bread that is being toasted in an oven. If you don't want burnt toast and you want to be able to walk away, get a regular TOASTER. In our house we mainly use this for cooking our children frozen chicken nuggets, fries and corn-dogs. If you keep the pan on the TOP RACK it cooks perfectly. And the convection feature makes the heat more even. I found that it makes food cook a little faster too. I bought a KitchenAid 11 x 8" non-stick baking pan (because the one that comes with it never lasts long) and it fits perfectly. We love our new oven...so far. 01/29/2013
