Ok, I read and rely on reviews, so I must take the time to write this one. I have owned 5 carpet cleaners over my adult life, so I do speak from some experience. I've had the most expensive Bissell for a few years and I finally used it one too many times -- time to replace again. I am a carpet cleaning fanatic (my husband laughs when I pull it out because I just love to have everything clean and I can't stop sometimes until it's perfect), so I went in search of a new machine to wear out. Instead of starting with the top of the price bracket this time, I started in the middle. After seeing the great reviews of the Hoover Silver, I went to get that one. I put it together and relized before I even used it, that it wouldn't work for me. I like to have the tools ready to use at the flip of a switch. I don't want any big procedure to switch back and forth. It also didn't have the hair collector on the wand, so it would basically suck, but not scrub or get hair off. When returning it, I saw this one right next to it and it looks a lot like the most expensive one that I used to have. I thought, "what the heck, I'll give it a try". I'm glad I did! For a great price, it does exactly what I need it to do and it is lighter than my old unit, so I can carry it up and down my 3 floors a lot easier. It has a heater, two attachments, easy to flip switch, easy soap dial and a nice long hose & cord. To top it, it is purple -- very cool color :). Thanks Bissell, I won't stray from you again and at this price, I can have one for each floor. Very pleased, Jenny

Are you kidding me? When it came time to replace my old cleaner and I was researching and reading reviews, an owner had posted that she could vacuum 6 times and this cleaner would still pull up a bunch of hair and dust and fuzzies. My opinion? And then some. I had a big H*r Steamvac plus for years and loved it. Then the brushes got weak and quit spinning altogether. What most people dont realize is that the brushes on a Steamvac are spun by an impeller and the vacuum motor, NOT a belt. After tearing that thing apart right down to the motor and cleaning it, they still wouldnt spin. Motor lost power with age, poor design- whatever the reason they just quit. So after reading the reviews, I bought this one. OMG! It weighs half as much as the old one, it is twice as quiet, and does twice the job my old one did even when new. This thing is awesome, and I love it! And the attachments? Double awesome. The sprayer hose attachment has these little teeth on the underside that you can "scrub" the carpet with while cleaning. It puts out plenty of solution, and vacuums it all up as well as the main machine. Cons? Only 2- I am not keen on the fresh water/ dirty water design, but hey, it works, so who am I to complain? Secondly, you can pull the trigger sparingly because if you hold it too long, it uses a ton of cleaner, even on the "light cleaning" setting. On the positive side, you CAN adjust the flow for the soap, so thats way cool too! Overall, this thing is a 10 for sure!!!

Have owned carpet cleaners for years, of another brand. We have a very light tan Carpet in our bedroom, that has two large stains. I have tried cleaning the carpet myself, more than once, and after it dries the spots are still there. I have even had the carpet Commercially cleaned with no luck. Two days after receiving this Bissell, I went to work on the Carpet, expecting the same results as in the past. It's been about three weeks now since I cleaned the Carpet, and there are no stains, and the Carpet looks like new again. I used the Bissell as the instructions said, and it works like a charm, it's also very easy to use. Would Highly recommend this product.

Bought the Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner to clean my dining room carpet. We got a new dog and he seemed to think that if you don't get outside when nature calls that my dining room was the next best alternative. UGH! After one accident the odor stayed no matter what I used to get rid of it and from then on our dining room became "the bathroom". The cleaner came with a pretreat spray bottle and a starter bottle of the pet order killer cleanser. It worked fantastic! Cleaner was a breeze to put together (4 screws), directions quite simple, and I never realized how dirty the whole carpet in that room actually was. I'm thrilled with the results and we have not had one accident since I cleaned that carpet 2 weeks ago. (Which tells me that the heated deep cleaning worked to get out all the odor.) Love it!! The unit comes with attachments for furniture and doggy accidents if you just want to clean up one spot. Our living room couch, office and master bedroom carpets will be looking good shortly.

I had researched and read reviews of several carpet cleaners. My carpet is 6 years, old in a house with 2 dogs and 3 cats. I was pushed to buy a carpet cleaner when one of my dogs was sick, creating stains on the carpet. I got the Bissell, I liked the pet stain brush idea! Brought it home.. assembly was easy. Operating the machine as very easy, as well as the tools. used the pet stain brush, all the stains are gone. And, the carpet looks new!! Next stop, my stairs!! I can't wait, I love this machine. The only reason I didn't give durability 5 stars, is that I have only had the machine a short time.

Or do you have to put hot tap water only?

    • A. You put HOT water into the machine and it continues to heat the water as you are cleaning. I actually let the machine run two or three minutes before I start cleaning just to make sure the water is at the peak temperature.

    • A. You load the tank with hot tap water. The machine has a heater switch, that when turned on, heats the water to about 220 degrees. Great machine.

    • A. Yes it heats the "hand hot tap water" you put in by another 25 degrees. They recommend to not use microwaved or boiled hot water because it will damage the clean water bladder. The heat works well and you can feel the heat on your feet as you walk back over the area you just cleaned. Does a great job. My carpets were so filthy and this did the job. Be sure for pets however to use the pre-treat, and then also the urine eliminator product, then follow up with the professional cleaner.

    • A. It does have a small lint trap. It is something that I clean after every use of the machine but I have never had a problem with it causing loss of power/suction while I am cleaning.

    • A. Yes...a tiny one. To avoid overworking the machine, regular vacuum well first. Also it is wise to monitor the red plastic lint screen filter every once in a while during the session. This is easy to do.

    • A. Yes it does. The cover that goes over the water bucket has a little red filter on it. This traps all the lint and hair you may pick up. Just make sure when it is full to clean it or your product won't work properly.

    • A. Yes, you do have to vacuum well though beforehand, and then during operation you probably have to clean the lint guard several times if you have not washed the carpet in a long time. Did a good job and if you empty the water tank into the sink, there is a guard that helps to reduce the amount of lint going into your disposal as well, not 100% but does a very good job.

    • A. Hi Debbie, unlike our Deep Clean Premier and Deluxe lines this does not have a hair and lint trap designed into the tank. It does feature a cover over the motor duct to prevent hair and lint from reaching the motor.
