Don't take it for granted that drivers will see you. Something unusual will make them slow down and look. It works.

i bought two if these safety flags just for fun and to switch out the flag for other flags when the occasion arise. the product works as i thought it would, no it didnt come with instructions but just looking at it is easy enough to tell where and how it goes on. the people that gave it low stars prolly couldnt figure it out. all you have to do is attach it to the rear axle in between the nut and the frame, easy as that. all that screwing it to the bike frame and taping it is nonsense, no wonder it didnt work for you guys. only problem i had with it was the price. works fine and all but feels like i over payed, even though it was ten bucks. i believe a fair price wouldve been six.

It is just a bright orange flag on a plastic pole. The bracket material is thin, but I find it works adequately. I have two of them. If you were to loosen the part of the bracket that is holding the pole, you can remove the flag/pole while keeping the bracket mounted on the bike. I made such modification, so my daughter does not need to keep the flag mounted all the time. It also let me move the flags to our go karts from time to time.

  • A crowsfoot made of very thin stamped steel

  • It is a side mount type with several pre-drilled holes. I used zip ties to tie it down, I think it is made for those who want to mount it to the spoke of the wheel, like you do training wheels. But I didn't want to mess with it. If you do what I did then it wouldn't matter the frame circumference.

  • The bracket built onto the flagpole is designed for a regular bicycle where the wheel is between dropouts and nuts/quick release mechanism tightens against the dropouts. Just put the bracket between the dropout and the nut. I have a tricycle which does not have dropouts on the outside of the wheel. The brackets also have holes which can be used with tiewraps. I used this method to secure the bracket to the trike's rear basket.

  • The metal mounting bracket at the base has 3 pencil eraser size holes for bolts or screws. If you have access to a drill you can make the 3 holes bigger, the metal isn't to thick to cause problems re-sizing them. I also bent mine 90 degrees to lay flush with the flat floor of our family go-kart.

  • the mounting bracket is designed to fit over the rear axle of a standard bicycle. The bracket is aluminum so drilling it out for a larger size shouldn't be a problem, due to the soft metal There is ample space to drill a hole that would completely encircle your axle.

  • The mounting bracket is just a piece of metal with a hole that is to be mounted next to your axle nut. If it does not fit, you can always drill the hole out to a larger diameter. If your bent has another mounting area, you can just remove the stock mounting plate altogether. My trailer hitch seems to fit the pole properly, so I just taped the pole a few inches from the bottom to make a stopper.

  • No brackets included with the flag. I used velcros to keep it steady.

  • The mounting bracket that came with the flag I picked up at Walmart today is a stamped piece of very thin metal that attaches to the rear wheel axle. The gauge of the steel is so thin that I will return the flag before the bracket is broken.
