Although these are not total black-out curtains, they don't claim to be in the packaging, but they darken the room so much that I do have to open them during the day. I chose the ivory color which might not be traditional ivory, but the online photo is very close to what you will receive. Even though they can be hung using the rod pocket, I used the clip system which makes them easy to open and close each day. The care instructions indicate that they are washable, but I haven't needed to clean them yet. I am extremely pleased with this exceptional value.

These blackout curtains do the trick. I would have given them a 5 star rating except they are brown on the back side. All other thermal curtains I have purchased were white on the back. The texture is quite elegant.

I've been saving up for these to put up at my sliding doors. I got 4 panels but I'm going to have to get 2 more for them to look full enough. Also, they do not hang like the picture here. Yes, they are pretty, but I wanted them to look like that. These are going to be covering almost my whole wall and I'm just hoping buying two more panels will do the trick. Also, my sheers are also 84" long and they hang about an inch below these....big disappointment because I do NOT want to have to take the hem out of all these panels or shorten all my sheers. The rings I bought for the drapes are smaller than the ones on my sheers so I'm now going to have to buy 5 packs of smaller rings to see if that evens the hems out. So, I'm going to have to wait and see what the extra panels and smaller rings will do. I just didn't plan on them all costing SO much in the long run. But I'm still going to keep them....they are pretty curtains.

I want to get these panels for my sliding door....it slides from right to left. I measured my door at 104 inches with yard stick. These are 54 inches and I don't know if I should get 4 or 6 panels. Can someone please help me with this? Thank you so much!! BYW....they are the Better Homes and Gardens Embossed Textured 84" Jacquard Curtain. I haven't decided on the red or ivory as yet.

    • Since your post is 5 months' old, I'm sure you've managed your door treatment well by now, but I'll reply in case it helps someone else. Generally, I multiply the width of the window or door for any drapes/curtains that will be opened and closed (yours was 104") by 3 - to allow for generous folds in the material. So, 3 x 104 = 312". Now add at least two inches on the left and right side to allow for the drapes to completely cover the door frame, so 312" plus 4" = 316". Since the width of the panels is 54", we'll divide 316" by 54", and we get 5.85 panels, or (rounded up) 6 panels. You might prefer fewer folds in your drapes, so you might do well if you multiply by 2.5 or so instead of 3. If so, you'd come up with around 4.8 panels (in which case, four would probably do fine). I've found it's better in today's market to purchase more than you think you need, as long as you can return what you don't need. This is especially important with items that might change in color if they are bought at different times, like some fabrics or wallpaper. I hope this helps someone, as it's not an easy thing, in spite of looking so simple.

    • It depends on how much "fullness" you want. I usually buy more than less so I can see how it looks. You should get six (6) to see how it looks and if you don't like the "fullness" you can always bring back the other ones. FYI I have a large double window and I am using four (4) and when closed cover the windows completely. I have a sliding glass door (though I am not using these, I am using sheers since I have verticle blinds) I only used two (2) sheers siince I don't want the door covered in curtains.
