Customer has been confirmed to have purchased the item from Walmart.

When I opened this package a broken piece of wood and a screw fell out onto the floor. I got my camera out and began unpacking the item. 12 out of 19 pieces had some type of damage. I contacted the company as per the instructions and they told me they would send replacement parts. I said no, more than half of it is damaged, I want the desk replaced. They said I would have to contact WalMart. Again, I said no. This is not WalMart's mistake. The packaging was in good condition inside and outside. This was packaged damaged at Ameriwood. After 3 phone calls and a request for the CEO's mailing address they agreed to reship the desk...in 7 to 14 days. Not a very good turn around time.

I have owned the desk now for about 6 months; the desk itself is beautiful and has great storage space. The only complaint that I have is that the front of the edge of the desk gets a lot of wear and tear and looks awful almost immediately after using the desk a few times. The front of my desk now looks awful, but I can probably sand it down and paint it, if desired. To be fair, I do have a house full of children, so I cannot say that the same thing would happen to someone who has less traffic on or near the desk. Overall, I love the desk!

Arrived with a hole in package, but I accepted it since no damage was visible inside. Unpacking I found the desk top had a crack running one third of the width. Could sand it down, fill it and stain to match I guess. Then on step two of assembly found the correct screws were not included. Two panels were from a different colored unit. At this time, fed up and looking to return it, or trash it. Additional note: the parts are not all marked, and some are marked but not the markings in the instructions. If you thought this item has two file drawers, as I did from the description, it does not. It has one.

I just finished building and setting up my new desk. This was just what I was looking for and it came out wonderfully. I know some previous reviews stated that it was hard to assemble, but I didn't have a problem. The parts were labeled and packaged better than any other piece of furniture I have ever assembled. Most big pieces are labeled with a sticker but many of the smaller pieces are marked on the side in black. Two pieces in my set were not labeled but it was obvious what pieces they were since everything else was accounted for. The best part was the hardware. It was all packaged in a big blister pack with each thing sectioned off and labeled. When you needed screw 12, you just opened the blister pack with the screws labeled 12.... GREAT!!! I've built a few things in the past where there was one sheet of instructions and none of the screws were labeled so you had to guess which were the right ones.... so aggravating. I had no problem finding any of the parts I needed. I would recommend having a helper handy for assembly. One part specifies in particular that you will need a second person. My husband and I finished building the desk in about 4 hours. We used a power drill for most of it, which was really helpful. I try to use power tools whenever possible ;-) I did have a small issue with the pencil drawer not lining up perfectly. It was an easy fix though. I just removed the first two screws on one side of the cabinet member - 22B (this will make more sense after you read the instructions) and adjusted the position a little... then drilled the screws into their new position. The fix only took five minutes at most. The overall outcome is great. The instructions are detailed but not overbearing and everything is organized beautifully. I recommend this desk 100%.

If you follow directions this desk will be a breeze. However, it's best you have a helper. I put it together by myself but I would not recommend doing what I did. It took me several hours to build, doing it by myself. My suggestion is to read the directions carefully and many problems can be eliminated. It is a very nice looking desk and very sturdy. I surely would recommend this desk to a friend.

Purchased this desk because of the price and reviews. It is a fairly solid desk and while the directions make it pretty easy it is time consuming. Took me several hours to assemble but feel I will be very happy with it.

Overall this is a good buy for the money. When I got this, the box was intact, but unfortunatly there were still several parts that were slightly scratched, specificly the top of the desk. These minor schratches were on the back of the top, so they are not noticed too much. This desk is hard to put toghther, it takes a long time to put together. The instructions are clear and easy to understand. However, some of the conponets/parts are not marked, which makes it even harder to put together. It also takes two people to put it together. Also some of the parts are not preedrilled correctly, so you eather drill the holes in the right place yourself or put it tokgether the way its pree drilled, but then things wont line up correctly and that can be seen, such as the molding that screws on to the top of the table. As I said earlier that what you get for the money, its worth buying, and when its put together it realy looks nice.

This is a very nice desk for the price. I was in Walmart and saw it on display so I bought it and the hutch. Wish I had bought the display model. LOL! It took a whole day to put this thing together. I have blisters on my hand from screwing all the screws in. Granted, everything is numbered and labeled, however, I disagree that it is easy to assemble. this is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. I work from home and needed a small desk to set up in my bedroom. It fits and matches perfect! Very heavy, sturdy furniture. Only problem is when you attach hutch, you must drill additional holes. I have mine just sitting up there for now until I can find someone to drill it for me. It is so heavy until it stays in place. Overall, it is a great desk for the price. Just make sure when you purchase, you have patience and a drill for all the screws so you don't get blisters. =)

Was happy with the desk when first got it! My smile went from :) to :( Had it less than a year, when the material started to rub off :( in four months of having it and using it. Would say this, had a very difficult hard time getting the bottom drawer to go in completely and from this day still won't go in completely even after taking it apart and re-putting it back together. Parts did come damaged, had to order replacement parts. Is kinda too narrow underneath the keyboard drawer.
