Arrived in time to cook corned beef and cabbage for St Paddy's Day. Turned out great! Meat was really tender. Have receipe for french onion soup that you carmelize onions in dutch oven in the oven that I am going to try next. I followed the directions and seasoned the lid and pot rim before using. Pot is quite heavy but the food is fantastic. Remember to use pot holder on lid, it gets very hot. 03/20/2012
Consumer Wins Big Very much impressed upon opening delivery box and observing my new purchase. Could not believe how much of a product I received for such a small price (was it a steal??). Cured the lips of the cover and dutch oven as required by the enclosed prior to use instructions. Made my first dutch oven pot roast this past weekend. Braised meat (4 pounds) outside of the dutch oven then added all ingredients to the dutch oven. Baked in oven at 350 for four hours, checking every 60 minutes to stir. Result was best pot roast I ever tasted and resulting in the family eating seconds. Although the inside lid and upper portion of the dutch oven turned brown from the cooking process, clean-up was a snap. A mild detergent and sink sponge wiped that residue away in seconds. Very impressed with performance and clean-up. One word of caution--remember to not pick up the lid without oven gloves as you will endure quick pain and next day blisters.
