I needed a new cookware set. My old set was over 10 years old and started to have issues. I was prepared to put out 500 for a new set. I came across this set and was impressed with the weight and that there wear no seams. For the price why not try it? I have used it everyday for a week. I am an expert cook and put this set through a rough test and I was shocked on how well they held up. I would have thought I was using top of the line cookware. They also cleaned up very nice.It claims to be dishwasher safe, but with cookware take the time to wash by hand these cleaned up very nice and kept there shine. Again there are no seams, very heavy, the lids fit very snug. BHG went the extra step with this set. I would have paid double the price without thinking twice. I hope they come out with some open stock peices to match. The free set of knives was a winner also. Full tang no seams, very sharp and nice looking.

I researched many cookware sets in the $100-200 price range before selecting this one. I have used Calphalon and the Emerils set in the past, and these are just as comparable or better. I was in the market for something that was durable, stainless, cooked evenly and looked great. This set had all of the features, got the best reviews, plus it is dishwasher safe. I love the thick handles that stay cool throughout long cooking processes. The glass lids are great to see how the food is progressing, although I would add a small hole or something for the option to let steam to escape. Once I learned how to use these with my electric cooktop, I fell in love! Remember, use less heat (much less) with these pans, and you won't get the discoloration or have issues. Allow the pan to heat slowly, it holds temperature very well. I cooked eggs just this morning, with a little butter in the pan at first, clean up was a snap. I've already used them for frying, homemade soup, pasta, potatoes, cake frosting, and more. Cleaning in the dishwasher is great, or soap and water. For the more messy stuff, I use comet or bar keepers friend, my pans are still brand new. I was expecting to replace these when I had a little more cash, but I think I'll hold onto them for many years to come. They make cooking more enjoyable. The set is hard to find in stores, I went to 4 Wal-Marts before getting mine. Many stores just did not carry them in stock. This is by far one of the best items I've ever purchased for my kitchen, and such a great price! I definitely recommend it.

    Very Good Quality Pans!!

I just bought these pans after doing quite a bit of research. If you cook a lot then fully clad vessels are the way to go. The heat distribution is terrific. It will take some time to get used to cooking at such low temps, but it really is quite easy. YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER TO HEAT THE PAN TO A PROPER TEMP BEFORE COOKING!!! This is the same for all stainless pans. This a link on how to do it. http://rouxbe.com/cooking-school/lessons/170-pan-frying. If you follow these steps you will have a very favorable cooking experience. Great construction, design, and price. The quality for the money simply cannot be beat. Very nice stay cool handles too. Very good product. Also remember that these are stainless cookware. If you put heat to stainless steel it will discolor some. A little Barkeepers Friend will take care of that very nicely. They are pans, not jewelry.

I received these as a Christmas gift but no insert/booklet whatsoever. Can anyone recommend on how to care for this lovely cookware and if there was a warranty card that needed to be sent in? Also, any other care, if mentioned, if OK to use in the oven? Any recommendations welcomed as never had stainless steel pots and pans :)

    • I do not know about a warranty card. The item description says, "Walmart warranty," but I cannot find the specifics of such. The cookware is quite durable, so it can be scrubbed hard if needed, or you may use a stainless steel cleaner made specifically for cookware to keep it clean and shiny. The cookware is also completely dishwasher safe, according to the description, though I prefer to wash by hand most of the time because of the bulk and heft of the items.

    • I highly recommend using Bar Keeper's Friend. I have a lot of stainless steel cookware, and I use that to polish and shine it, as well as to scour it, which is rarely necessary. A good tip is to wash in warm, soapy water to remove as much residue as possible, then scour it with the Bar Keeper's Friend, Rinse and then Wash and Rinse again in new water to remove the residue that Bar Keeper's Friend leaves. Hope that this helps.

    • These are oven safe to 350 degrees. Don't recommend using anything higher that medium heat. This causes instant stick and burn which will discolor the pan (which doesn't actually harm anything more than the look of it). If something sticks simply soak in hot water for a couple of minutes and it will come right off. Preheating the pan is very important also, especially for the skillets. I preheat the pan then add either melted butter that is cooled slightly, or a bit of oil and for the most part things don't stick. For fried eggs however there is a special trick for the pan, first you want to heat it up, then add about 4 tablespoons of oil, swirl to coal the whole inside, then add 2 tablespoons of salt and scrub it into the pan. Use a paper towel to clean the salt of the pan, preheat, add oil, egg and viola fried egg that doesn't stick. If you find your pan discolored and want that pretty shine back, simply use a stainless cleaner, like Bar Keepers Friend. Good luck and enjoy.

    • The book says they are diswasher safe though I always hand wash. They are oven safe too. I dont remember a warranty card and I have misplaced my paperwork as well.

    • Care for gently, soap and water, dishwasher safe, or Bar Keeper's Friend. They are NOT oven safe, according to the box. Cook with much less heat, even for boiling water. Once heated, they stay hot and cook very well. Use butter, crisco spray, or a little oil when cooking, as things tend to stick to the pans. If you don't use a grease, just move the items around when you first place them in the pan, so they don't bind to the bottom. I'm sure you've learned a lot of this already, but I wanted to share since I just got my set, and I love them!

    • This type of cookware requires a modest amount of care to maintain its good looks and performance. Because of its design, this cookware works best at temperatures lower than you might use for other types of cookware. Medium heat should be sufficient for most cooking tasks. Never use anything more than medium-high heat on a stovetop for actual cooking (except for boiling water) as excessive heat for cooking can actually cause serious damage to this type of cookware. Give the cookware enough time to come up to optimum cooking temperature and do what it was designed to do instead of turning the heat up to "High" just to speed things along. More heat isn't always beneficial or necessary. Recommended maximum oven temperature is 350 degrees. Excessive heat will also cause food to stick to the pans. If you have a problem with food sticking to the pans, try turning the heat down a bit. A small amount of cooking oil in the pan before heating the pan will also help prevent food from sticking during cooking. Clean-up can be simplified by letting the pans cool and then adding some dish detergent and water and letting them soak. For any food that doesn't wipe off easily after soaking, use a non-abrasive scrubber and/or cleaning product suitable for polished stainless steel surfaces. Never use a harsh or abrasive cleaner. One brand of cleaner that's been recommended for this type of cookware is called "Bar Keeper's Friend".

    • Care is basic wash after cooking while still warm helps the most. If there is stuck food or something tough to get off BHG recommended "The Bar Keepers Friend." I really suggest hand drying to avoid spots on the outside. As for oven cooking keep it 350 and under.
