Better Homes and Gardens 10-Cup Food Processor, Red 5 5 4 5
BHG processor is wonderful I returned my Oster processor that only lasted a few weeks and added a little money and got this one. It is wonderful. It is so powerful and the attachments aren't flimsy. Love this processor! If you are interested in it, go to the store and just lift the boxes. Just the weight alone will tell you it has a better motor. 01/23/2011
FINALLY! The BEST Food Processor I've ever had! I was pleasantly surprised by this machine. It has a powerful 450 watt motor, yet it is much quieter than other food processors I've used. I've only had it since the beginning of this month and the first thing I checked out was how easy it would be to remove the bowl and cover and replace them on the machine. I was going to return it if I had to struggle with it as with the machine it was replacing. I had seen similar KitchenAid or Cuisine Art models being used on the cooking shows that were much more expensive. This machine has all the power I need. I've made roll dough and cranberry relish. The machine handled each job just fine. The machine that this one replaces had a larger bowl, but I've found that the 10 cup bowl is actually the perfect size. I appreciate the fact that the machine is really heavy and solid...doesn't wobble or walk when using it.I must say, also, that I love the red color. It looks much nicer on my counter than I expected. Almost forgot to mention how handy it is to store the slicing discs and other parts right in the machine in a separate compartment that fits on the bowl.I purchased this machine to replace a working 14 cup food processor because I had grown tired of wrestling with it to remove the bowl or cover each time they had to be removed. This fight always added about 30 minutes or so to my time using it. 10/21/2011
Best $80 I spent! great food processor. It's worth every penny. I originally bought it to make baby food and now I use it for baking, soups, marinades and so much more. Super easy to use and I love the storage container. 09/21/2011
Value, Quality, Quiet and User Friendly! SHORT VERSION: I have tried other brands and this was the best performer, as well as the best value. I have used this several days a week since Nov. '11 and have not had any problems. All the parts come off and are easy to clean (top rack dishwasher for plastic). It is very user friendly and quiet. --Very high actual capacity. Lighter weight than many similar models.LONG VERSION: Used 3-4 days/week since Nov. 11. I first tried a large capacity Cuisinart and Oster. The Oster rattled, so I exchanged and got another that could not process dough. Convinced that I needed something more pro, I went for a new Cuisinart 11 cup model. My first gripe was the weight. Then, I wanted to make pastry and was totally disappointed that the actual capacity was not close to 11 cups... more like 6 cups or it will bog down. I believe this is because the bowl was taller, rather than wider, like the BH&G. I got online to look for another product and found this item included on a black friday special for $39. (But worth the full price.) I figured I'd give it a try and I have used it every week since then. I own the red model and have made bread, pastry, cookie dough, shredded lots of cheese and potatoes, sliced veggies... pureed... I use it a lot and it hasn't failed me once. It is lighter weight than some of the comparable models (weight is something to consider, if you will be storing away after every use.) It is simple to operate and the user manual is easy to understand. I would definitely gift this item and buy another in the future. Mine came with 1 yr subscription to Better Homes magazine or mail in for a subscription refund, I believe the refund amount was $4 or $5. 05/01/2012
